Time travel, get onboard.

Post by Weasel »

The new age of time travel is now onhand..ruled by the Nice, Caring Tyrant Weasel.

The rules of the NCTW governing board are as follows.

1. Any time period of your choosing.
2. You are not allowed to mess with history at all.
3. Failure on part 2 will lead to your elmination...no trial. The NCTW (from a secret base in time) keeps a steady flow of information back and forth to keep track of history. Violators BEWARE.

Now where would you go and what event in history would you like to witness.

It's kind of obvious isn't it? The Silurian era of course! And no, there is absolutely no chance of affecting human or any other history, since whatever I do will have eroded away eons before anyone starts looking. I could of course play a small prank when I die... make sure all the right parameters for good fossilisation are present at the point of my burial ;) Perhaps right on top of Burgess Shale! :D

It's no fun if you can't mess with history. I'd love to bring some computers back to Rome and see what happens :) . But if I couldn't mess with anything, I would like to go back to something unknown. I'm not sure what, but something that everyone still questions. Actually, following Jesus around would be pretty interesting. Could change my whole view of life. heh
I need a sig.

Rome, see who caused the great fire, was it Nero or some other monkey?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

I'd like to take a quick jump to the future and pick up the most advanced technology and weapons. Then I'd like to take a jump to the Netherlands of the Roman Era. I'd give them the technology and the guns and a message from their new "God" (me that is :D ) to conquer the entire world.
After that I'd immidiately jump back to the present and take my place as God and ruler of the entire world (and with some luck even the whole solar system). :D ;) :D

I'd like to go back a day or two to when the Evil High Tyrant Weasel became Nice Caring Tyrant Weasel. That has to be seen to be believed. :D

May I go and witness a prehistoric event? If so, I'd like to go back to the Subsaharan regions about 50 000 years ago, and finally get to know whether modern man developed at several places on earth simultaneously, or whether we all came out of Africa.

Granted another trip, I'd like to go and witness the Cambrian explosion.

Come, let us travel to the greatest era of all time... Back to the 70's! Disco lives again!!!

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

The caring Tyrant agrees with more than one trip. :)

Technically you aren't changing history, you are just pushing onto a time line that already exists in which you changed the past somehow, there is no actual messing with the timeline.

I would go into the future to see if humans still exist, my personal opinion is that we would have wiped ourselves out by then.

Ummmm lets see go back to ancient Persia straigten out a few sanitary difficulties and become the Sultan with my own personal harem.

Lets see what else, I have always been interested in the men woman sex issue, whether we are equal or not, it would be interesting to change some events so that men or women predominate and see the resultant consequences.

If I could time travel I would go back to when Venus and Earth were still relatively the same and terrraform it using some form of blue green algae, Venus I mean.

Into the deep past, before humans ever got started around the PreCambrian Era and establish a colony of humans, hopefully with the knowledge of today they could make a fresh start of things, but if history is any judge then probably they would just make all new mistakes.
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."

I'd want to see the Renaissance Period, with little glimpses of Michelangelo working on the Sistine Chapel, yet another glimpse of Leonardo Da Vinci and I'd see if I can pick up a few painting tips on the side.

@Kayless: :D

I´d travel back to victorian england and become the new wonderperson with my knowledge and superiorness (sp?)... something along those lines.
Or back to the first humans with a bunch of lighters..

I'd do that... :D

I'd probably go somewhere into the future, to just see what we will do...besides, perhaps, destroy ourselves.

I'd like to clear up a few old questions. Any or all of the following trips...

(a) Egypt about 2600bc to find out how they built the pyramids (or whether it really was aliens)

(b) London 1888 to catch Jack the Ripper (taking along a DNA lab, fingerprint kit etc)

(c) on board the Marie Celeste on her last voyage

(d) at the crucifixion of Jesus and the thieves (preferably with enough time to teach them the words to "Always look on the bright side of Life")

...back in my country during the Spanish colonial times. I would want to see how our culture compares then and now.

Of course, I wouldn't want to lecture those Spanish friars a thing or two coz that would be having to influence history somewhat (which is against the rules according to Weasel ;) )...

...besides I'd get killed just like what they did to our national hero, Jose Rizal...
