I actually don't know any of the people who celebrate their birthday today, but Happy birthday all of you! :)

Good rule of thumb: if you don't recognize the names, it's because they've come and gone. Mutt doesn't even show up in the Members database (though birthdays seem to remain behind much longer), and God of Air stopped posting in February, while never visiting this forum. :)

Nonetheless, it takes me but a moment to wish them happy birthday, and I have lost nothing for doing so.
If they don't see it then it's no big loss, and if, in the unlikely event that they do stop by and see it, they do, then they feel good that someone has wished them a happy birthday. :)

"From the family history of the Weasel's"

"Weazel the Thumb"

Born August the 13, 1098 in the Highlands of Louisiana to the ruling tribe of L.A. (Lower Alabama)

Became leader of the tribe at the age of 15...His father 'Weasel the Toe' died in a very bad hangnail incident.

He, Weasel the Thumb, ruled for 7 years and IMHO it was a good time. He introduced the filtered peace pipe, 8 day week (didn't catch on though) and the Thumb of Investment...(which lead to his fall)

Glad to be of help. :) You know , studing the history of the 'Weasel Family' has lead to some strange facts......most of the time, the outcome turns bad. :D But we are always willing to try. :D

According to a story I heard in way back in college, the expression comes from the olden days when corporal punishment was commonplace, not only in schools but in the home. In many states, there was an alleged law which allowed someone to beat their children (or spouse) with a switch so long as it was no wider than their thumb. I don't know if this is true or an urban legend, but it's a plausible story.
