Is it possible to have an avatar that appears to be a different race to what you actually are? For instance if I choose half-elf as my race can I have elven avatar instead of the human one which the game gives me? Basically I would like to know if it is possible to change your avatar and if it is how. Thanks in advance.

I think you can choose whichever avatar you want regardless of your race. I think it's only the sex that matters.

You can use the console to change it. Of course, you may have to set the EnforceLegalCharacters field in nwnplayer.ini to 0 in order to progress from chapter to chapter.

Bring up the console by hitting the '~' key, then type:

DebugMode 1
SetAppearance number
DebugMode 0

Click here for a list of all possible appearances.

Thanks Nygma. I am thinking that the "most won't show your armor" on the char comment to be about things like animals and monsters. As in, say I have a human character but use the Elven avatar my armor and weapons would still show right?

Yes, all the normal playable race models (0-6) will show armor and weapons. The only problem you may have with the normal models is a missing head, since some (like human) have a lot of choices, so if you switch to a race that doesn't have that many heads, you may end up as a headless footman. (Hmmm... a Legend of Sleepy Hollow module?)

By the way,

0 = dwarf
1 = elf
2 = gnome
3 = halfling
4 = half-elf
5 = half-orc
6 = human
