Where exactly are you in the game. Usually the best items are the ones you create or the ones given to you after completing quests but you can buy some nice items as well for example from
Eltoora's Magic Sundries at Port Llast.

Well I am in chapter 2 and well to be honest I don't even know what the good items are since they mean nothing to me, in bdg 1 and 2 a good item would be simple extra spells extra armor immunity etc but in nwn I'm a bit confused but what kind of items are good ? And where to get them ? I am currently playing my wizzard but going to create a mixed up character really soon :P

Any hints tips and naturally spoilers are welcome

For your wizard the first thing you have to look for is some items that boost your intelligence so that you get some bonus spells and be able to cast high level spells as well. You can also buy an amulet or ring with some bonus on your AC since you can't wear any heavy armor.

As i said before Eltoora's Magic Sundries at Port Llast has a nice variety of robes, spells and magic items that your wizard might find usefull. You will find several other character that sell staff in Port Llast as well.

Something like that, the bonus spells are actually determined from your int modifier(for wizards), for example with a ring that grants +2 to your intellgence the ability score of your character is raised to 16 which means +3 int modifier. The +3 bonus gives one more bonus spell that +2, but you will find more details and tables in your manual for the exact number of bonus spells.
