Clothing, fashion, and lust

The other day I was waiting for my flight back from Boston, seated at the airport, and indulged in the age-old habit of girl-watching. I was dismayed: it seemed no one was interested in wearing tight jeans. To understand what I mean, you have to know that when my wife and I traveled to Budapest this past September, tight jeans, pants, and skirts were very in. It did my heart good, and, judging from the glances of many Hungarian men, it didn't exactly pain their eyes, either.

Fashions change, and they differ across the globe. What's considered erotic or teasing in one culture is passe in another, scandalous in a third, and unpractical in a fourth. Are clothes used as an attractor in your culture, or one you know? What clothes on the opposite sex (or the same sex, or some hitherto unsuspected third sex) sends your blood singing, assuming your blood can carry a tune? :)

Fable KNOWS one when he sees one...

...at any rate, here in Bangkok, short skirts (short of being classified as minis) seem to be ALWAYS in fashion here. These short skirts are more often used by the Uni girls for their uniforms... and they lok so great for most Thai girls with flawless skin and shapely legs! :p

...thank God I'm not a Uni professor...

...it would be a pain in the groin having to see them everyday. :D

As for the third sex, you'd be surprised that a number of them here can really give some women a run for their money!

These "katoeys" would wear just like the women: strapless tank tops (with hanging hemline, exposing the belly button) as well as minis. They could really fool some foreigners in search of real women... especially when these foreigners are drunk. ;)

Actually, I wasn't speaking metaphorically when I referred to a "third sex." I was speaking literally, as among the asexual species known as lawyers, who bud. However, I'm not opposed to this bit of information. Thank you for it. :) I'll probably file it away, along with all the other nonsense that passes for knowledge in the breezy attic of my memory.

I must admit to having a thing for women in cut-off jean shorts. and halter tops. and leather pants. Shorts skirts are ok, but the three I have mentioned can send me into fits of oggling. :D

Here, tight clothing is in in both young males and females. Women in all ages mostly use low cut tight trousers, jeans or stretch. A tight top, showing everyting between 1 cm (0.4 inch) to 10 cm (4 inces) is common now during the summer. Tank tops and such aren't so common here though, a short sleeve or straps seems more common for city use. Short skirt has not been a fashion here since the 80's, instead, long skirts are in now, but they are also low cut and worn with a tiny top.

For the gentlemen, low cut jeans and fairly slim cut shirts or t-shirts are common. Suits are supposed to slim cut too, Italian style is still in. Unfortunately, "earth" colours and bleached jeans seems to be in, so everybody looks IMO fairly boring in all this brown, beige, grey and washed out blue jeans.

re: Katoeys, they really look amazing, one of my friends (a straight man) thought they looked better than the girls! :)

As for lawyers, I wouldn't say Astafas is totally asexual...the girls faint around him anyway, and it's not because of his bad breath ;)

As for me, I have this thing for untied bowties...I just can't control myself when I see a handsome guy with an untied bowtie...fortunately you don't see it very often :D :D

More generally speaking, I love a good looking, charismatic man in a slim cut Italian or even British suit, preferably in an unusual colour, not the standard grey and absolutely not chalk-striped or worst of all - dark blue. I also love a man in jeans, but jeans demands a good, rounded ass. Boxer shorts and nothing more is fine too. When I think of it, almost everything is fine actually, if the man looks good :D

@Wiwimu: Not in the Swedish ones, I can assure you. The Swedish ethnic costumes are to horrible to describe, take a look at this. Fortunately, very few people use then, and if so, only for special occations.

What on earth are they wearing? It looks like it was laundry day for them and they had to improvise an outfit. :D

Hi BS, you...look...unsually...good. Very nice bow tie, but don't you think it would go better together with a tuxedo rather than that baggy old T-shirt? :D

@Fable & Tybaltus: ROFLMAO :D :D The Swedish ethnic costumes are supposed to be reconstruced replicas of the kind of clothes people wore for celebrations in the old Swedish agricultural society. And take a look at this, in case you believe the male versions are better.

This man is not wearing them, but it is common that the male costume include a kind of garther with 2-3 plum-sized ballshaped yarn-tazzles on. This is fastned just below the knee, where the trousers end. :D

Are you sure that link is correct? I mean, no one in the right mind would force anyone to wear that. There is such a thing as cruel and unusual punishment.

Celebrations? Thats one party I would NOT like to go to, let alone dress up for. :D

Since I never go outside I dont know what kind of clothing people wear here, but I trust CE on the matter. :D

What apeales to me on the oposite sex is shirts and ties, There are simply no competition there... Other than possibly girls in top-hats and tails.

*Gasp* They look just like those gnomes in the bank in the harry potter movie!
No, as I live in Denmark I was already familiar with those costumes (no, not in the way you might think :p ) but people don´t really wear them for parties anymore... totally last year! :D
In Denmark, french brands like Chanel and Dior are really in, and small tops and tight jeans...

Any of you been to Scotland recently? Seems that everybody likes slipknot and korn all of a sudden, and wanted to dress up in all the baggy clothes available, not mentioning colouring their hair black and being pierced just about everywhere in the face...

Cheers ;)
