Question about items with lvl req

I've seen many items that have a lvl requirement like for example my hand axe requires me to be lvl 9. I was just wondering if I'm playing a multi-classed (let's say mage/cleric) character, do I have to be lvl 9 mage or cleric to be able to use it, or is it good enough for me to be 5 mage/4 cleric. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ares,

Level req. are based on Total levels, so your level 9 item could indeed be used by your 5 mage/4 cleric character
