@Delacroix: Good to hear nobody was injured! :) Like Dottie, I also always appreciate your participation in the political and intellectual discussion threads.

Congrats to the WC, there must be a fabulous party going on where you live :D

Btw, I have started to read The Posthumous memoirs of Bras Cubas, so far an highly odd and book with many aspects, it is surprisingly modernistic to be written before the modernism! I will bring it at my holiday tomorrow so I can finish it while I have the time :)

Congratulations to Brazil - they deserved to win against a surprisingly strong german team.

Ronaldo's comeback is simply amazing. Kahn suffered an injury in minute 52 (a tendon of one finger was torn) but Ronaldo's display of skill was too strong to blame the goal keeper today. Btw, most people here in Germany are happy with the performance of the german team and celebrated after the game anyway. Brazil simply was the best team in the world today. Collina was very good too, the game almost felt as if there was no referee at all, which is the best compliment a referee can get.

@Delacroix: I hope you have a great party in Brazil - I hope you don't mind about the car, the only important thing is that no one was injured.

@ CElegans:Yes, Everybody in the streets screaming with each finger of their hands above the heads, celebrating the victory. "Penta!"(word related to 5th).
I'm glad you are enjoyng the book. It's an exception and exceptional book for the country stadarts(for hystorical fact the literature in brazil don't have the importance of English or French...;BTW:Sterne is awesome. ). Also, part of he importance comes that Assis was from a poor family and was also a "mulato"(Miscigenic race, typically brazilian).

@PhantomLord: You right, thank you.

@Dottie:Thanks again.

Ps(for the guys):The celebration includes girls in the streets celebrating with no t-shirt :eek: :eek: :eek: . I close my eyes :D :D :D :rolleyes: .

I think the media in German take too hard over Kahn shoulders after the game. Unjustice. He was one of the best players in the WC, IMO the best in German team, and the best Gkeeper of the WC (followed probably by Friedel), Dificult to imagine Germany in the final stage without his actuation.

Good to hear that, enjoy! A visit to brazil is on my long term thing-to-do list. :D

As for Kahn, nomatter what they say about him, i will still consider him the best Gkeeper in the last few years not just in the WC and i believe that many poeple feel the same.

Rolling Thunder (TM) - The Mobile Party Thread

**the sound of Elvis singing "A little less conversation" grows loder by the second. Suddenly a truck appears in the middle of the football(soccer?) field gouging deep tracks in the lawn . A belching and singing hunchback steers the Rolling Thunder (TM) to the sideline to link up the trucks backdoors with the entrance to the V.I.P. area of SYM'S fottball stadium**

**Beldin cuts the engines and lets the reactor power up to maintain electrical power while stepping out of the cabin onto the sacred lawn of the Buck Satan Stadium**

OK ! We're here.
Gimme something to drink, mates !
