Major Bug? (I haven't found a ref. yet..)`

Hmm... like all the posts I seem to read here... I am also in love with this game.... which is what make my problem so hard...

The Host Tower in Luskan.. at the Pinnacle?? I can see Aribeth, Maugrim, and the lizards..... and cannot open the gate that leads to them.. nor can I talk to them ..... Friends tell me that they have got past this bit, a script should run showing an initiation of Aribeth to the Lizard doods??!! And then they disapear and the remaining Lizards open the gate to do battle?

Indeed, every walkthrough I have read would suggest the same.... it seems I am stuck and in the mire.... and I have read of NO OTHER people/instances of this bizzare and downright frustrating bug....

It seems I am doomed to start again and hope not to get stuck at the same place..... which leads to a second, much easier question..... where is the mayor in Port Llast?

Any help 'preciated.... (or Sniggers.... its all the same to me )

You're not going to find help on this topic reading the posts about how much people love this game. Try the ones about what people hate about the game.


I had the same problem. I went to the Bioware forums and found some answers there. (Can't believe Bioware hasn't fixed this yet.)

Try this Bioware forum thread

On page 3, Gatts gives a DM Client workaround.
On page 7, Godstalk gives a Toolset workaround.
On page 21, people are still complaining about the problem.

I used Godstalk's. It's a pain, yes, but it got me through. It doesn't seem to work exactly as it should, but go up to the gate and walk back and forth between the gate and the corpse on the ground a couple of times, click on people if you have to, and it should work.

Oh, iirc, the mayor in Port Llast is in the same building as Aribeth and Aarin (mercenary enclave?). I believe he's the guy who gives you the bounty quests.
