length of the official campaign....spoiler

Post by powerfist »

hey!

i couldn't help but notice that before my last save sucked up, my character-a monk- was already lvl 16. and if what i read is true, this game has limit of lvl 20.

the question is, if i'm about to enter the host tower in luskan with a lvl 16 character, does it mean that i'll be stuck with a lvl 20 character for the remaining 2 chapters or am i nearing the end of the campaign?

i'm restarting the game with the same class, a monk, cuz my saves from the previous game are all corrupted. now spoil me if you please, cuz i don't want to be replaying the same old class again, how much longer is the campaign after the high tower in luskan?

thanks.

The former.
Chapter four is very short compared to the other three though.

I played a monk and leveled up to 17th lvl just after starting chap 3. I hit lvl 20 in chap 4. Interestingly, I kept gaining experience, though my character sheet said something like "maximum level reached" under next level. So maybe if the cap is raised later you won't waste all that experience?

Like Trix said, Chap 4 is very short so you'll have time to enjoy your twentieth level feats without gaining enough experience (probably) to have advanced to 21st level.

I think that would be determined by the mod. Some might be for high level characters, and others might restrict you to new characters.

Like what Nygma said.
To do it, load a saved game, go to 'options', hit 'save character'.
The game'll put a .bic file in your local vault (the $\local dir).
You can then pick this character when joining a server, instead of creating a new one. As detailed in the manual. ;)

You are in the ending part of Chapter 2 now, so I don't think you will hit 17 before going onto chapter 3. I saw my first time around that after 16 XP starts to drop off and levels start coming alot slower than they did before. You might hit 20 in Chapter 3 if you do all of the quests and make sure to kill everything. Otherwise you should for sure hit it in Chapter 4. But like everyone said Chapter 4 is considerably shorter than the rest of the chapters. But you should enjoy your damage reduction for a little bit at least. :)

I had no problem hitting lvl 20 with my cleric at the beginning of chapter 3, just after I did 1 quest (Neurik's trial quest.) I did ALL the quest in the previous 2 chapters.
