Slow movies

Post by Rob-hin »

Is there a way to play the movies from the hard-disc instead of directly from the cd?
My cd player is realy slow, it's actually just a cd writer... :(

Any help will be nice!
Thanx

What kind of video card do you have? I have an ATI Rage Fury Pro card and the movies run slow and there is some lag between the video and the sound. If you have an older card, such as a pre-Radeon ATI card or a GeForce2 chipset, your issue could be less a function of your optical drive than it is your display adapter.

Yeah - I have this problem, and my CD drive is a normal 32x drive. My graphics card however is a Geforce 2 MX200, which is most likely the problem.

I have a Geforce 3 :D
So that can't be the problem.

No, I know I have problems with my cd-writer. It's not really ment to function as an cd player but my dvd player is broken. :(

You can pick up a fast CD-ROM (52x-56x) for about $30 (USD) at most big retailers (Circuit City, Office Depot, etc.) and often they have rebates or discounts that can make them "free".

Buying a new cd or dvd player just for the movies in NwN is a bit to much for me.
Most other games I have I play with a no cd crack. Then the movies tend to go better. But in NwN I won't do that. It could mess up the online stuff.

I noticed the movies run slow for me too, and I have a Geforce4 Ti 4200. I only have an 800 MHZ Pentium III processor, but the rest of the game runs fine. So it must be the 56X CD-ROM. Oh well, it's not that big of a problem anyway. :)
