Time for another poll! (which Starcraft race is your fave)

Anything goes... just keep it clean.

Which race is the best in your opinion?

It's a boring, linear game. Why should I care?:D

Time for another poll! (which Starcraft race is your fave)

Post by Ode to a Grasshopper »

As we have recently seen much reminiscing about Starcraft, I figured why not make a poll to see which race everyone liked the best?

So which race is your favourite? I like the Zerg, myself. They're the weakest IMO, but they were just fun to play as.

Actually, Terrans get the shaft in the game. Their only advantage is that they have a ranged weaponery.

Terrans all the way though. Nothing beats a line of seige tanks backed up by Goliaths. :D

Except about 4 queens, or lings with guardian support. :D

Zerg got my vote (even though I hate them in single-player - Die Kerrigan!)
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Well, when I use a static line, the lings won't bother me, and as for the queens, meh. By the time you can kill a few of my units with spawn, I would've alreayd had my air support there to cause trouble.

That was my vote. :p

IMO, Terrans are the best race in the game. But, the Protoss have an interesting story, too.

Every race has their strong and weak points. Terrans got all the strongest arsenal, Zergs require those ugly buildings which can be upgraded into sunken colony to expand their base, same with Protoss which require pylons. Protoss got their shield advantage and Arbiter unit which can cloak other units around it. Zerg best unit is the queen which can invest a terran base hence making suicidal "terran exploding infantry" availiable. Tough choice, I prefer :
Terran : Siege tanks, Goliath and those hefty Battle cruisers
Zergs : Umm can remember all their unit names except the Queen and That acid spraying unit
Protoss : Arbiters, and those Battle ships which can launch small fighters

Protoss quotes :
Executor ?
I hunger for battle !
For Adun !
Eradicate !
Annihilate !
I'm not dead yet :D :p

Best units of the game, are by far the Terran Goliath, Zerg Hydralisk (with full upgrades) and Protoss Archon.

I love the Siege Tanks when deployed. In the 3rd level of the demo before I had deployed the gas Reactor I delployed General Edmund Duke on a choke point. One shot = 3 very dead Hydralisks :D . God damn I love that unit.

The Vultures with the speed upgrade could be lethal with heavy support, when I play RTS I always Turtle. After playing RA for ages as the Soviets I learned Tesla, Tesla, Tesla and then the deployment of miliatary. I won a lot of games against friends that way because they always rushed out tanks and ran out of build time before I ran in and devoured them.

The Firebats are great, I love their selection voice. "Need a light?" It sounds soooo cool. :D

I can see I'm gonna struggle for time this summer. :D

i just love sneakin' into others bases with multiple ghosts, and listen them shout WTF?! when the nuclear threat is notified to them :D :D :D

but i like protoss the best just because, we can't let the evil win, now can we?(damn they already did in the brood wars...oh well)

the terrans are always so damn helpless in the movies, i don't remember them winning even a single skirmish in the movies(and the way the protoss hero died in their planet when his energy blades short-circuited or smth like that and got wasted for that :D by a hydralisk)

Zerg all the way baby!

Did you know they made a song about starcraft in Korea (or somewhere close)?

"I'ts a zergling ruch, a zergling ruch!"
"But didn't you build turrets? But didn't you build turrets?"

Or something like that.
