Help!! Can't advance from Host Tower (spoilers)

I cleared out the Host Tower, freed Arklem, and got to the roof. I can see Maugrim, Aribeth, and a host of others behind a gate. I can't open the gate and I can't talk to anyone behind it. I've scoured the tower and Maugrim's lair, and still can't find a key or wardstone. Where do I go from here?

Spoilers ahead kinda hehe**********

Hehe all u have to do is walk up to the gate, and Aribeth/Maugrim will automatically go into a dialogue sequence. I wont ruin your day by telling you what they say but just watch for 2-3 minutes, and one of the guards will notice you and teleport the 3 main characters to safety. You then have a plethora of yummy lizard folk to deal with! Yippie!

Hmmm, I'll try again, but I've stood at that gate awhile, clicking on the gate itself, bashing it, trying to talk to somebody on the other side. I figured when I first saw it that it would be something like you describe, but it hasn't happened yet.

i had a similar problem. NWN is notoriously glitchy so u may want to try doing different things before going out to the gate area. Try resting before you go out, or save to a new slot and reload (thats worked for me a few times) and if all else fails, just move your character beside the gate (not in front) and just let it sit for a few hours. As long as u saved beforehand, it should eventually fix itself. You can then reload and hopefully it wont glitch out hehe

well then my only advice is to change what you do before you head to the gate. Maybe try standing in different spots, or rest before u go. Save that i think you're out of luck
