Has anyone else noticed this?

Post by Ares2382 »

everytime you load the game all your special abilities are back. For exaple I'm playing a sorceror and I'm only allowed to summon my familiar once per day. I was walking around this dungeon and a few monsters kill my familiar then I kill them and as I always do after a good fight I save game. Then about a minute later I run into a bunch of monsters again but this time I get my butt kicked, so I reload, then I see that my summon familiar ability is back again even though I didn't rest. I have tried this with other characters and this seems to come up with all of them, even your henchmen. Has anyone else noticed the same thing . If so tell me and I'll go and post it on the tech support forum on the official NWN website.

No, I have not noticed it, and I distinctly remember noticing the opposite.

My situation mirrors Crosswind's. In fact, whenever my druid makes a level, her animal companion vanishes as if killed, and she has to sleep again in according to resummon it.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Yeah, same here. Also, my first level druid spells seem to come and go. I'll sleep, and all get all my cantrips back, but my first level spells are grayed out as though I've used them. But occasionally they will show up, so I know I can cast them if they're there. Sometimes I'll sleep, get all my 1st level spells, then later try to cast them and find they've vanished.

I finally went back to my monk character and gave up the druid for the time being; I never did figure out any ryhyme or reason behind it. Anyone else been losing spells like this?

Yeah I get that. I summoned by pet for the day, got ambushed, pet died, I ran like a whore, saved. healed. Died. reloaded game and bang, pet was able to be summoned again AND I was fully healed? (I healed after the save and I know this because I used my last Potion of Serious yada yada)

And no I couldn't rest, I was backed barely out of range in a corner and " You can't rest when monsters are about"

a little different

one thing i don't like is that you can run from "monsters" by portalling from room to room (or up and down stairs) and they do not follow. you can go so far as to rest and save and then go back and fight and the enemy is still hurting.

and by the way, i noticed this on accident and don't intend to use this cheesey tactic. i figured the person either would have followed or at least rested when i did.

I've had monsters follow me through doors - and I mean into other zones, with a load in between like from inside a house to out in the world. It happens some of the time. Sometimes you get lucky though.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....
