Good question! I pre-ordered through Chips'n'bits (using the link from this site, to support Buck), and have not yet received a copy. And I placed that order months ago.

I encourage you to use the link from this site, though, even if it means a delay. We must support Game Banshee! :)

Thanks, der Moench. Let me know when you get it. I'm fixing to order. Can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype. Hope so.

Of course you haven't received a copy yet. The game was just released on shelves today/yesterday. And someone said something about Chips and Bits datings its release to 6/22. So it'll prolly be a few days yet.

As to it being backordered, I really can't answer the question. :)

OK, well, I called Chips'n'Bits on Saturday to ask that they hold the game. I just don't think my old PC is going to be able to run the thing. :( I fully intend to own and play this game, and I am very excited about it, but I would rather wait until I have a newer computer (hmmmm ... Alienware?), and holding off until the game had been worked through a bit more seemed like an added bonus. If it is buggy (and there seems to be some question about that), maybe later versions will improve.

BUT - it seems the software shipped out already, and so I will have the thing on Monday. I haven't decided yet if I will return it straight away, or try to make the thing run ...

Anyway, the point for this thread is: if you pre-ordered from Chips'n'Bits, you should see the software shortly. :)

Why return it if you plan on getting it again later? That's just extra money you'll have to pay for shipping.

If you want to wait until your computer is upgraded and patches are released for the game, just don't open it til both those have been accomplished.

@average joe: That raises a question, and maybe you have the answer. Is buying a later version (presumably one that has had some upgrades and tweaks to the programming) the exact same thing as continually throwing patches at an original issue?

It just seems to me that patches would be less reliable than getting a revised edition with debugged code, but I really don't know how patches work, nor how different later versions of the same package are.

Let me know - I'm curious about this issue. Thanks! :)
