How would you...

Post by Vinin »

...tell a girl, that you like her? Not a girl I just met, but rather we've been talking and I don't know how far it is.
It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

"I never thought it would end like this,
just because I got no ****,
I'll shave my legs and wear a bra,
I'll even cut my p**** off for you."
-Reel Big Fish

Now that's a love poem if I ever heard one.

haha! Thats a toughy. Do you want to find out if she likes you the way you like her, or just flat out tell her how you feel?
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

The worst thing you can do is prolong the time. Just go up to her, and talk to her about. Speaking from experiance, it is better to hear a no then a maybe, or to not even find out. If you want to do it in a subtle way, ease it into a conversation.

Yeah - you can only get burned horrible by asking - no biggie :D :D
(and no - not talking of experience  :D )

Naa - I actually agree - it will only get more difficult the longer the convesation is delayed/avoided.

LOL...Good question, I can see this one running and running... :D

One thing is this: Girls always tell you that they want a guy to be open and honest and make a bold move...but they only want all that if they actually like you. ... They can act slightly tactlessly if you're unlucky, and she really doesn't like you... so I recommend just brining the subject of girls (or boys, relationships, whatever) into conversation. If she likes you, I should think it will become obvious when you start discussing that sorta thing, and if she doesn't, it gets you into a nice position of being The Bloke Who She Talks To About Blokes, which I'm sure may not seem appealing to you right now, and is seen by some people as being the ultimate failure with a girl ('you're like a brother to me' etc ;) ) but can be cool...it is refreshing to be honest with a girl for once  ;) , and can get things going well....

I would presume since you are already talking there is some form of mutual interest, talk about that and then move on from there onto other things that are of mutual interest... :)
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

This isn't the situation you want to be in, trust me. While it is great to be close to someone you care about, this is too close to be, and still want a relationship. It's best to let her know how you feel, and find out how she feels. If you become to close, then that can potentially ruin the friendship, which is never good.

The Love Docs are all around...

...but seriously Vinin, be yourself, be good to yourself by getting your self-confidence intact...

...in my case, being direct to the point without being too forward like, "You know, I really do like you..."

...it does bring me places provided of course the lady can see through you and detects utmost sincerity on your part.

By all the gods in whatever pantheon you worship, @Vinin, do not do this thing. The world is not ready for a female Waverly.

I suggest you don’t tell her at all. You should let it fester and boil within you until you become a bitter hermit whose only friends have six legs and would likely survive a nuclear holocaust. That always worked well for me. Well, not really. I got fed up with the roaches always drinking all the milk and leaving the empty carton in the refrigerator. :p

So if you do tell her, be sure to tell her exactly what it is that you like about her. Is it her strong political views? Her grace under pressure? The delightful way she files her nails? Everyone likes truthful specifics. Don’t make it up and be honest. :)
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

And the prodigal ET returns.... With some odd advice... Whoa! Deja Vu! :D

Before even asking her to go out with you (or whatever your plans are) find out if she is interested in a relationship with anyone. If she isn't even interested in one, then it would be best to hold off for a bit.

Ok heres some real advice now: show her that you care about her. there are many different ways to do this such as buying her lunch or just being there for her and listening to her when she's had a bad day. pay attention to her. make her feel like she's important to you. let her know that you like her in small ways at first and then maybe after a little while start up a conversation and see if she likes you. i dont think just flat out asking her is the best way to go, unless you are pretty sure that she likes you. you have to give her a chance to figure out that you like her. and then she might realize that she likes you also.

@Aegis- i am only semi-returned. i wont fully be back until next tuesday. or maybe it was wednesday. i dont know one of these days ill pop out of lurker mode and post at all these threads that ive been meaning to.

Do it with style....

.....I always recommend a nice dinner (probably with candles involved) and a quiet walk at the river/lake/beach/forest....under a moonlit sky , a look direct into her eyes and a quiet voice while talking about HOW YOU feel for her....

EITHER it does "the trick" or you had at least a nice evening and some good food.....(always look for the silver lining on every cloud I say...) :D ;)

If the above i absolutely out of character for you or her - just be yourself and TALK.

So no matter WHAT you do ...KEEP TALKING.... ;) :D

No worries & good luck,
