aran linvail secret agent loot

ive been thru the game a few times now so ive been experimenting with the ppl and stuff....
after i accept aran's help (meaning i didnt take bodhi up on her offer) i attacked aran linvail for the fun of it. All of a sudden this secret agent dude comes outta nowhere and cuts me down...i was wondering does anybody know how to kill this bastich?


same deal with Renal too...i heard he has a nice belt that keeps him from dropping below 1 hp.
but cant seem to get it cuz of the elf secret agent dude

That dude is Arkanis Gath. He comes in if you try to screw up the game plot. As you sided with Aran you cannot continue the game if you kill him (or the other shadowthieves as that make him go hostile also).
You can however kill Arkanis if you have a very high level mage.
The trick is to timestop and turn into a mindflayer (shapechange, 9th level spell) and then int drain him until he hits 0 in intelligence. Arkarnis wears the belt also, so you can't melee him.
Oh, and they won't drop the belt of cource.

Renal doesn't wear such a belt, or he must have a problem using it, I have sliced through him several times, but Arkanis is another story, is there any interesting on him? Coz I got annoyed with the game a bit and decided to do some genocide and all good stuff help of course.

could it be that imoen has that very same belt in the starting dungeon?

you can kill imoen (mind flayer attack), but her body disappears afterwards.

I heard that they made it so she couldn't go below 1 hp in Irenicus's Dungeon, so that before Imoen dies, she'll run off so she can be in the cutscene where she and Irenicus get taken by the cowled wizards. Also, whenever I attacked Renal, about 6 guys came out and killed me.
