two days of unbridled freedom!

Post by Robnark »

Hey people. i have a problem. i have two whole days at home without parents. i have no money. i need ideas.

bear in mind that the damage will have to be repaired by sunday night, and there is a neighbour - fortunately an old and deaf one. also, try to avoid suggesting activities that violate any of the important laws - basically, anything that can't put me in front of a war crimes tribunal is good.

He did say he had no money... :D

Suggest an alcohol pot luck - you provide the venue, everyone else provides the booze. Get a few really large bucket-type things and when you have enough people to enjoy it, start pouring bottles of things that look like they should go together well (or violently, depending on how far along in the weekend you are ;) ) into buckets, and drink like there's no tomorrow. Get some really tacky porn movies if it's just gonna be guys (though it could well be fun with girls too, and I'm not suggesting you should have a unisex party :D ) or some crap horror/action movies, loads of junk food, and pig out for 40 hours. The other 8 are put aside for cleaning up the mess. :p

at no point in sleeps post did i see the word 'buy' :D ;)

location - medium sized house - 3 smallish bedroom semi - in the countryside, about 7 miles from nearest large town. lots of space outdoors - large garden at the back, village green in front.

also, i've tried pot luck. unfortunately, lager was over-represented. lager and black vodka is nice by the second pint - lager and ouzo is never appealing

Umm I think you'll find that ouzo is just plain never appealing, even if it does get you wasted very quickly. Hate the stuff. Smirnoff Black is very nice, though.
Ask all your friends to delve into the black depths of the back of their parents drinks cupboards, though - you're sure to find some gems somewhere if they just bring the strangest thing they find in the house...maybe even a bottle of vintage Goldschlager :D - all those old unwanted Christmas presents of apricot brandy could well find a new home in your toilet :D

the toilet?! nay, i will instead mix one of my infamous 'chemotherapy' c0cktails - everything that no-one at the party would want to drink... MIXED TOGETHER! served by the pint.

Barbecue, fun for all and the possibility of nasty viruses and food poisoning :D

Can't you get your parents to shout you a bit of money for a barbeque with a few friends, say it is to aid your time in the social wastelands that cloud the creative heart...or just say, give me money or i will have to invite every drunk i know to the house because i can't afford booze myself :D

And then, having imbibed such a dangerous mixture, it shortly shall end up in the toilet. There's no denying it... :D

Of course one can have fun without money or booze, you could try inviting everyone around for a discussion on what to do with a free house, outlining the pros and cons :D

You could also make origami figures; that is always fun...so what do your parents expect you to be doing during this time? :)

@ kam: i strongly refute that ANYONE could stagger to the toilet - or even stagger - after a 'chemotherapy'. :p

@sleep: or i could, say, 'invite some friends round', and 'borrow' some cash for 'food'

to answer your question, my parents expect some mates will come round some time for computer-related shenanigans, 40k, monty python (or even better, godzilla) videos, and not much else. all very civilised

 What's wrong with you young people nowadays - two full days without parents, and you don't know what to do? ;) :D

Big party for two days, invite all your friends, ask them to bring their frinds, if everybody brings some bring booze and food, you'll have plenty. Since you live in a house, ask people to bring CD:s too so you can play really loud music and dance. Just remove everything fragile and expensive and lock it in somewhere safe before people start partying. Make a deal with a few of your close, trustworthy friends to help you clean up the mess and do the necessary repair work before you parents come home.

Take it from me: think of what you think your parents think you'll be doing (hmm that was a fun sentence :D ) and then increase the "trouble factor" by about ten. In fact, most parents are probably surprised when they get back from a weekend where they left their teenage son in the house alone and find the building still standing... :D

EDIT: CE, as always, has made an excellent point :) Good advice and don't forget about the cleaning-up bit ;)

Exactly, that way it sounds vaguely legitimate :D

That sounds alright anyway :) However CE's suggestion also sounds excellent :D

I can't think of a greater waste of Smirnoff Black (if that's what it was ;) ) than mixing it with lager... that is quality stuff! It should be drunk straight. ;)

BTW, CE's plan sounds good. As long as you have some friends :D

rob, there is no way that this is what your parents think will happen. See my previous post for details :D

@CE: I'm sure you do, what with those (10?) years between growing up and getting a job :D

@Georgi - yes, that was what I was thinking too, but then he lives somewhere in the wastes of Northumberland or something :D

hmmm... the fragile items bit is awkward - worrying numbers of picture frames just waiting to break - and all my sister's artwork is back from uni. i will be careful

of course, i could calm things down a bit with liberal application of cannabis...
