Being familiar with all three places, I'd choose NZ for a walking tour. The scenery is outstanding, there's no competition on this planet.

Scandinavia is nice too, especially Norway if you like mountains, and Sweden if you like deep forests. The Netherlands is not the place for walking tours IMO, it's perfect for biking though

I'm not leaving 'til saturday, but the tickets arrived yesterday so I was just a bit excited!

Probably won't have time to catch any of you pommie chaps this time around, got a rather busy schedule of touristy things planned. Although on Frogus' recommendation I might have a small window that used to be filled with a ferris wheel.

Anyways, if you spot a 25yr old kiwi guy looking really lost, that's probably me!

Dottie, you're a horrible city boy, Sweden is still full of deep forests, just not close to where we live. I have relatives in northern Sweden, there's a lot of forests there, and forest-clad hills.

@Flibblo: So what are your plans for London? Are you spending all the time in London, or do you plan to travel around? Is it your first time in Europe?

This is my first trip to Europe. I'm staying with my sister, who's een there for about 2 1/2 years. We've got a few things planned that I've been told about, such as a four day trip to Rome, but for the most part I'm being kept in the dark about it! Should make for an interesting holiday!

I know there are "forests" but are there forests? You know those beautifull areas who actually looks like nature... I thought almost all of swedens forests was used for forestry these days.

Sounds great, what could be better than a surprise vacation?

I hope you will like Europe as much as I liked NZ - I've actually considered moving there but my job makes it impossible. I do howver grieve it's so far away away from Sweden, almost exactly as long as you can get

Otherwise I'd be visiting at least once a year

@Dottie: You find large forests in Hälsningland, Värmland, Dalarna...not all areas are used for forestry, and some areas are protected. When I was a kid, I used to walk in the fairy-tale forests in Hälsingland with my grandfather, he was the son of the farmer and born in the area.
