Aurumch Rilman, unlimited caster

Post by cair »

Has Aurumch Rilman (end of Watchers Keep) any limits in number oh his spells? I tried to run him out of his spells. But after one hour of running there and back and there and back and there and back, I was bored. And he still have mirror image, blur, invisibility, death fog, cone of cold, prismatic spray and death spell and he seems not to finish casting next and next spells. And if I attack him straight, I don't have a chance. And my party is, I think, well trained, main character 21 level. Or has anyone some strategy, that functions against him?

Is he the lich? If he is summon a deva and wizard eye to take care of him. I had a my mage release the switch while the rest of my party hid themselves behind one of those large gates. Immediately when he and the flaming skulls spawned I cast time stop, moved over to the rest of my party and manuevered the deva with my wizard eye attacking the skulls 1st. If he imprisons the deva summon another. It shouldn't take the deva long to get rid of him once the skulls are out of the way.

No, I think he's the head of that nice family. I remember him being quite impenetrable but I don't think he has infinite spells. Kinda chaotic fight, after having everyone else brought down pretty quick it took hours to kill grandpa Rilman.

Alright, I'm pretty sure it's the group that has a beholder among them. Same method worked as well, timestop, planetar, run away and hide. If your really having a hard time skulltrap/trap/delay cast fireball the spawning points.

Nope, he's neither the lich nor in the Ilmassera/Beholder group. He's the head of the third group and one of the strongest mages in BG2, level 30 I think.

According to SK he's a 20th level mage.

My tactic with this chap is breach + hit him lots. Works well. :D

According to SK he's a 20th level mage.

With the berserker kit glued on top. He also carries an undroppable staff of the ram. His spells don't show up in his memorization lists so they must be some kind of other ability and are therefore possibly endless.
