Equalizer useful????

Post by jace4ever »

Is the Equalizer really that good and useful, since it's thaco and damage varies depending on the alignment of the opponents u face. The last thing I would want is to be facing a True Neutral opponent when wielding the Equalizer long sword. I think the Black Razor and Blade Of Roses are better. Please give me your comments.

Considering all the items you need for making this sword, it's not so powerful. I don't use long sword too much anyway....

The Equaliser Blade isn't really worth the trouble getting it IMHO.It has no effect against Kangaxx's Demi-Lich Form

Considering the other long swords in the game, it's not quite the best weapon in the game. But it's definitely not bad. By the way, it has a cool look.
And Blade of Roses is not better than the Equalizer!

Think of it this way:

1) You don't go out of your way to find its parts. They just come along in natural progress.

2) Under certain circumstances, it beats all other long swords hands down.

Personally, I keep a stock of long swords and two-handers available for my NPC to use as befits the situation. Hell, that used to work for the French medieval knight, why shouldn't my warrior mage do it? Image
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Thanks for the answers.
My main character is a long sword user. He is a berserker who dual wields long swords. Do you all have any suggestions of what combination of long swords can I use in battle? It would of course be better if the long swords are of +3 and better.

Blackrazor is the best long sword in the game, but you get it so late.
Combine it with Celestial Fury and you'll be practically unbeatable. The only problem is that CF is a katana.

It isn't "bad", but the problem is that many powerful baddies are TN in the game(Golems etc.), but it looks cool, and what else can you take except Daystar?!

it's a matter of how you define "bad". my big dissapointment in the equalizer is the fact that you spend god knows how many acts to forge this knife (form act 1 till 5 or 6)
Against all the TN foes you might as well use a twoH. sword from Jon's Dungeon lvl. 1. and if you look at all the other nice swords that is an alternative for the suckqualizer it only makes it look worse.

The suckqualizer is not worth of a topic. Well, collect its parts if they come in your way. Okay, forge it if you do not know what to do with bags of your money. Use it during Bodhi Finale (all vampires are CE, the suckqualizer helps there). Throw it away. Your weaponry collected so far is better in all situations where not all monsters are LE or CE.

Errr! dont forget guys & girls! that the Equalizer protects from Charm & Confusion Spells. Really cool Idea when fighting mages & Vampires when you dont want your own party to attack each other. Of course, you can wear Helm of charm protection and wield another weapon thats as good, but Why bother when the equalizer will work on its own and you can wear an amazing helm like the Helm of Brilliance.

Nice idea Fable! I do that too. Keldorn is great with Carsomyr of course, But I also keep Lilarcor to protect him from those pesky charm & confusion spells (Like the Equalizer) cast by Vampires and mages until he has closed to Hand to Hand Range. Then they get Holy Avanger Death or even a Vorpal blade in the Belly or Neck Image

Well, I think Equaliser is a good weapon. It takes time to get it, but I go through those places whether I want it or not so no difference. And I LIKE the weapon. Should be more powerful though, since manual says something like it's "one of the most powerful weapons ever crafted"
Centuries ago in England........It was an era of chivalry and magic. The evil Prince John unleashed an iron fist of tyranny upon the people. While protecting the helpless and the poor. Willing to face death for what he believed, along with the beautiful, lady warrior, Jaheira, the mighty Minsc, and the wise Keldorn. Robin hood, it IS powerful! But longswords category has so many great swords to choose from, so it is hard.

The only problem with the Equalizer is that there are no good-aligned guys to fight, which makes it only good against evil dudes.

But it's the finest looking weapon I've ever seen!

sigurd, true that there are MANY long swords in the game. Many good ones as well, so the choice is yours. I prefer the Equaliser.
