It is all part of Palpatine's master plan. Although it could have been much better explained (that's Lucas for yaOriginally posted by Morlock
1. Why do the clones and the droids attack each other? they were both created by the same side! and how come, even though Jango told Obi Wan that he was hired by a man named Tyranus, did Dooku seem surprised that theclones exsisted?
What? No mention of the beautiful, stunning, angelic, incredibly gorgeous Natalie Portman? She's the sole reason I plan to see the the movie again tonight (and finally changed my LoTR wallpaper for her image). I was kind of hoping you'd write something to whet my curiosity about her, since I hear she comes rom your neighborhood. Oh well.Originally posted by Morlock
Just seen it my third time, and I don't care what people say I liked it!
Seeing multiple times only makes a clearer division- things are either really bad, or really great.
Some new thing I noted:
1. Why do the clones and the droids attack each other? they were both created by the same side! and how come, even though Jango told Obi Wan that he was hired by a man named Tyranus, did Dooku seem surprised that theclones exsisted?
2. I thought it looked really stupid when Anakin carried the bags. It looked like a bell boy walking all over a city with his master.
3. I really liked the fact that Dooku's Light Sabre was bent, it made the way he presented it look very profetional and unique.
4. I thought the diner scene was really stupid, not at all in the spirit of Star Wars.
5. R2 flying was not a good move. There could easily have been other ways for him to save the senator.
6. The inside of Kamino looked like a cross between 2001: a space odyssy and Close Encounters of the third kind. Everything was white, just like the end of 2001, and the Aliens build looked very similar to Spielberg's aliesns in Close Encounters.
7. How is Owen Lars(SP) Anakin's half brother- Anakin had no father and Shmee could only have been with Lars for 10 years at most?
8. I loved the fact that Obi Wan's code for the Jedi councel is 'Old folks home'.![]()
9. A storm trooper tells Mace Windu that he has 5 commandos at his disposal. What happens with them?
10. I like the lines that the droids say:
Droid #1: "Uh Oh"
Droid #2: "Roger, Roger"![]()
Again- I am impressed by the music.
Two more specific parts I noticed- right after his Mother dies there is a close up on Anakin in wich you see him getting very mad, and the music relly plays a tune reminicent of 'Psyco' in which you hear the imotional turmoil in side of him.
Second is subsequent scene when he give his "I killed Them..." speech where, in addition to one of Christenson's best acted scene, the Impirial march really shows you that he is one step closer to becoming Vader.
I know I've said this before, but I think that having the death star in production there was a move of pure genius on Lucas' part.
The best scene in the movie is still when the imperial march plays at the end as the Emperer and his entourage watch the storm troopers. IMO the best scenes in all the movies that have it, are the ones in which the Imperial March plays. In Empire it was the introduction to Vader, in Jedi it was the entrance of the emperer to the death star, and here. The best musical piece ever to grace the screen.
Darth Sidious had both the clone army and the droid army created to start the war. He and Tyrannus are playing both sides so that Palpatine will have the excuse he needs to get the "emergency" powers from the Senate and eventually become Emperor. Dooku knew about the clone army, but he can't let the Trade Federation et al in on the joke; he's got to have them as dupes just as Palpatine needs to have dupes (Jar Jar Binks) in the Senate.Originally posted by Morlock

If you read the book, there are some references to the fencing style of Dooku's lightsaber fighting technique as pure swordsmanship as opposed to the new fighting style of many of the younger jedi which is not only meant to fight other swordsmen, but deflect blaster bolts as well. In real life, the official Christopher Lee website claims that the actor is an accomplished swordsman in his own right has appeared in more on-screen swordfights than anyone else.3. I really liked the fact that Dooku's Light Sabre was bent, it made the way he presented it look very profetional and unique.
They're not half-brothers, but stepbrothers. Again, the book is much clearer about this than the movie.7. How is Owen Lars(SP) Anakin's half brother- Anakin had no father and Shmee could only have been with Lars for 10 years at most?
Ah, to be young again! unlike some people here, I don't think about sex everytime I see a female actress.Originally posted by EMINEM

I was wondering about this myself, what have we actually seen her in to presume that she is a good actress? She is good in Leon but i am not aware of that many other films where she provides us with a display of her talents.Originally posted by Morlock
Natalie Portman is a great actress, but has yet to get a great script or character to complement her acting skills.
You should read the book because the cheesy dialogue is still there but the wooden delivery is not. The characters are more fleshed out because the obsession with eye candy is not a factor.Originally posted by Morlock
Is the book recommended? I like Salvatore, but itinitialy looked like a cheep way to make a few bucks.
