Your Favorite Anime Theme / Soundtrack

Post by KidD01 »

Since some of SYMers also love to watch anime, which of the theme song or soundtrack you like ?

There's a lot on my lists, here's some of them :
1. Fourth Avenue Cafe by L'Arc~en~Ciel - Ending song of Samurai X season 4
2. Dream by My Will - Ending song of Inuyasha
3. Ima Soko ni Iru Boku by unknown - opening music of Now and Then, Here and There (This anime got no opening song - just music and it's a cool one !)
4. It's gonna rain by Bonnie Pink - Ending song of Samurai X season 5

Hrmpf.. One of the worst parts of anime is those pretentious signature songs they just have to play at every damn occasion. ;)
While others climb the mountains High, beneath the tree I love to lie
And watch the snails go whizzing by, It's foolish but it's fun

Gotta agree on that one :D especially if the song is really bad :)

<EDIT> Which is why most of my fave theme are ending songs since they never play the song at every damn occasion. :D

*quietly rushes in and starts to sing Kaze mo Sora mo Kitto*

I love that song. But outside of theme, Setsunakute Ii wins by a LONGSHOT. Highly recommended.

Just to sound like a cliche, i would have to say Ghost in the Shell, truly amazing score :)

I pretty much agree with Dottie, most of them are nonesense :)

@Sleep & Dottie : Dunno if you've seen tokusatsu if you do then that's one heck annoying to hear those main chars transformed with the theme song play in background.

PS : Tokusatsu kinda like Power Rangers film, an FYI most of Power Rangers film was 'bootlegged' from certain tokusatsu movie :)

And yes, the GiS opening theme are awesome. But wait till you hear Sol Bianca opening theme "To Be Free" :)

Personally, I've always been a big fan of the Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, and Fatal Fury movie soundtracks. They do have some good songs (with the exeptions of the ones they play constantly by re-writing two notes and calling it a "mix" version). But who knows? There are a LOT of good animes out there! :D Like Yu Yu Hakusho (which unfortuantly doesn't have a soundtrack as far as I know of) and MiyukiChan in Wonderland. I could name a hundred of 'em. ;)

Ok... *waits patiently*

I would have to agree with Mr. Sleep that "Ghost in the Shell" has an awesome sound track. "Perfect Blue" wasn't too bad either. I just purchased "Metropolis" and I am hopeful that the music will be up to the standards of the rest of the movie. :)

GitS was pretty good, however my favourite soundtrack so far has got to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. Especially the Rei themes, and the themes they play for the scenes that take place inside the characters' psyches.

And some of the renditions of Fly me to the Moon were pretty good too. The Asuka theme sort of ticked me off though.

Well Ayanami Rei is the most kawaii bishoujo on NGE - it's concluded on a poll posted wayyy back somewhere on the net; while Asuka Langley come in second place ;)

@thantor3 : Can't wait to hear your review on Metropolis :)

Out of curiousity who have seen Mazin Kaiser ? it's the new installment of Mazinger series (Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger etc)
And who saw Kotetsu Jeeg, God Sigma, Saint Seiya & B'Tx ? :)

We don't get much anime down here in Oz :( , so there's a lot I haven't seen. I doubt I'd have seen more than 20 movies, and I'm something of an anime buff around where I live.

It's, in my opinion, the best series Anime has ever produced.

It's the best one I've seen (not that that's saying much). Which one do you think is the best?

To be honest I dont generarly like the series, movies seem to be much better. Serial Experiments Lain have always apealed to me though.

We haven't got the movies down here yet  :( . I've been waiting for about two years now, but the negotiations to release them fell through and have only recently been reopened.

We dont get either over here, and when some anime enters the stage it's mostly kiddy or low quality. I'm reduced to downloading the japanese fansubbed version.
