Those were the days...........of TV series

Post by KidD01 »

Back in 80's there're lots of hit TV series. Most of them even make us hooked that we felt we lost something if we missed an episode. I recall "Airwolf", "McGyver", "Mission : Impossible", "Charlie's Angels", last but not least "The A Team" :D

What's your favorite those days ? :)

Well, my favorite old tv show was Battlestar Galactica, but it got axed prematurely in my opinion.

Others were

A-Team
Cosby Show
Buck Rogers( I loved Wilma :D )
The Fall Guy
Rockford Files

Just a few.
Lord of Lurkers

Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!

My favourite TV shows of "old":

Family Ties (the greatest family sitcom of all time)
Cheers (until about season 8, consistently the funniest half hour of TV on each week)
The Superfriends
The Dukes of Hazzard
Knight Rider
Remote Control (the best TV game show ever)
Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter . . . don't get Flanders started . . . )

Battlestar Galactica was good, until Galactica 1980 (the series all true sci-fi fans disavow) turned most people against the franchise. Aside from the astronomical budgets, that kid choking to death on the toy missile didn't help the show's chances for renewal.

Oh, thanks a lot Kid, now I got that theme song in my head. And, yes, Heather Thomas was awesome. Same for Heather Locklear, the reason I used to watch T.J. Hooker.

@HLD....I got all the old Battlestar episodes on video. Hell, I even had the big oversized comic book of the series start off.(does anyone remember thse big oversized comic books?)

I also forgot to list the Muppets as one of my fav shows. :D

My favorites were 'Mission:Impossible', 'Dukes of hazzard', (if this counts) 'The tonight show with Johnny Carson' and (please give me a chance to explain) 'Dallas'.

I liked Dallas for a few small reasons and one huge one.

I think it was the only good soap opera in the history of them.

It was less soapy than others.

It had a great suppoting cast, led, at the begining at least, by Jim Davis.

The main reason is the best character ever in any TV show: J.R. Ewing. Larry Hagman plays him so brilliantly, so cunning and so much like a likable villain- he is amazing.

I wouls also put in 'Amazing stories' just because of Spielberg- but it was mostly pretty bad.

EDIT: But of course, How could I forget the muppets?

Yes, Pam Hensley in spandex jeans was the only rewarding aspect of the Buck Rogers show. And what a reward she was, too. :)

The Honeymooners remains, for me, the best sitcom ever aired, though two others, Good Neighbors, and The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, come very close.

Not the only reward, fable; Colonel Deering was pretty hot, too.

Bah, I was just about to say I'd confused the two. Erin Gray is whom I was actually thinking of.

Best comedy show, without question: The Muppets, followed closely Fractured Flickers.
