I just started yo play ToB and i noticed that my characters dont get the same amount of Xp that is written in the "guide book" for Tob, for example, for the first quest i got only 7000 Xp per character, in guide it says that i'm supposed to get 40000. Any suggestions?
Well 40000 split 6 ways would be 7000 per char ( 7333 given the 10 percent bonus). If thats not it then my guess would be its just not up to date with the final game settings due to printing delay. What is this "guide book" anyway? One of the strategy guide things they sell?
the guide's name is "BG 2 ToB official perfect guide"(versus books).
Thats the problem that they say that u suppose to get 40000 per charcter. I continued playing and saw that all of the Xp for the quests is much lower then they say it is.
It seems like those guides really are pretty weak. Since they want to have them ready for sale at game time they can miss late balancing changes and of course they can just have errors to begin with. Save your money and just browse the web for whatever info you need.
yea, i guess thats the best way to do it, but i could understand if the errors are not that big,but to be mistaken in bout 30000 Xp for every quest, thats pretty weak.
It also depends on what difficulty setting you have. I believe that the XP you get on the easier settings isn't as much.
I played at normal and I got the same amout of XP listed, divided 6 ways that is.
Check that in the game options....see if that could help ya out.
"They tried to quiet him, but after he stuck his tounge out, they all died"
If I remember correctly, Normal is below Core Rules, and I think nearly everyone plays by Core Rules, meaning you get a bonus in XP listed (which is listed for Normal)
I think lots of people play on insane too, but you're right I imagine not many people play below Core (they really should have made Core the default). The big downside to insane (IMO) is that you dont often get to have people die since they get chunked most of the time on death. So basically it means more reloads for fights you'll win but lose an NPC on. This is one cheat I'd kind of like to do --- take a perma-dead character and bring them back to normal dead (or else turn off perma-death while staying on insane difficulty). Anyone know how?
The manual says that you get no exp bonus for increasing difficulty but you get a penalty for lowering it to easy. Is that incorrect?
in that case, quest exp. is probably fixed, but enemy killing exp definitely isn't
