My ADSL went live last Tuesday, I was the cat with the cream after four years on dial up - and stubbornly sticking with AOL. But!! I find I can get a digital connection for only £8 per month more than my current providers - so I convince my hubby I am worth a new toy, and invest in an Alcatel Speed Touch USB turtle looking thingy with a couple of green lights on the front. My line goes live!! I rub my hands in glee and prepare for some awesome speeding through the web!!
The infamous British Telecom have incorrectly configured my line. I cannot connect whilst there is any other telecom appliance plugged in, I cannot make or receive a phone call if the modem is plugged in. I report the fault to my new ISP and they refer it to BT.
Now. Happily browsing (unplugged phone), and getting ready to take the mickey out of BS
It is a line fault!!! how are my ISP responsible for a line fault when all lines are provided by BT??
So. Here I am. On dial up. Thankful I kept AOL for a buffering period
There rant over, thanks for listening.
