"Ahem"
Okay, I'm willing to give this another try (that is, if the Moderators permit this thread to remain open in the first place). Hopefully we can demonstrate enough civility to hold meaningful discussions on an important topic this time, remembering the consequences of breaking the rules.

Kudos, to you EMINEM...
...you have my admiration for keeping cool amids all the potential "problems" such discussion can produce...
However, I do hope that people will participate in this thread to ASK for answers to certain QUESTIONS and NOT as a springboard to debunk the validity that our God exists.

How much effect of the current paedophile issue within the Catholic churches on the ordinary Catholic/Chiristian people or communities in the US? We have quite a lot of coverage over here, but I wonder if it is a "big news" in the US, and if so, if it is because of the churches/priests involvement, or because it's child abuse/paedophilia.

@Eminem, with respect, I think that the emotions here are too, well, raw right now to sustain this thread. I'm closing it, and I have a strong feeling most of the other mods would, too. Let's wait a while, okay? And when we do, I think we'll open the thread up to answers on Christianity supplied by anybody. That way, no one person will have to bear the brunt of defense.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
