New job?

Yeah, Grunt I’ve been interviewing quite a bit. I’ve got one offer that is not quite to my liking and a few other leads; but my primary interest is in a NYC area company that I’ve interviewed with 3 times now. I’m currently in the ‘twisting in the breeze’ portion of the negations wherein I wait to hear if they will be making an offer.

Oh, and Viv, I would be hiring an assistant.

Update: It seems the company I spoke of is working on an offer, though I have been warned the initial compensation will be lower than my expectations. C'est la vie... I'm still anxious to see it.

It was a long time ago I did a job interview, I started working part time at the lab I still work at when I was still a student. When I was doing my internship to get the licence to practise, it was obvious that I should do it at the university hospital connected to the medical university my lab belongs to, so I didn't even do an interview, I just began working.

Is it a better job than the one you have now? Is it a good career move? Do you think that you will be happier in that job than in the one you have? Will you be able to wake up in the morning and look forward to going to work?

At some point, a job you enjoy and one that is friendly towards your lifestyle is much better than all the money in the world. My uncle used to be the executive vice-president for a major company and made millions of dollars per year. However, he missed most of his kids growing up and spent a lot of time away from his wife. While the money was nice, and enabled him to send all of his children to Ivy League schools and take his vacations in the Bahamas, that doesn't make up for all of the baseball games and dance recitals he had to miss because of his work.

And you know what else? When it comes down to it, his debt-to-income ratio was about what mine is; sure I drive a used Toyota and live in a small split-level house, and he's got a new Lexus and a new house on 50 acres up in Maine, but when he made more money, he spent more money, too. And I have yet to miss one of the kids soccer or basketball games.

HLD: For all practical purposes my previous job ends May 1, although I technically I haven’t done a damn thing in it since Feb. I’m pretty sure the new job would take up a bit more of my time than the previous job, but the the potential will be greater.

As to my grandmother....well they removed the cancer from her lungs but she is having a bad reaction to the medication. *hug*

It's legal in Nevada . . .

If they got the cancer, she's halfway there. I'm sure she'll come through fine.
