Unfortunately, no. :( It's a photo emailed to me by another ROTK gamer three years ago. Lost contact with him :( :(

@BG Fan:

Thanks, I think I'll buy the books and see how they are.

While we are on the topic of classic Chinese literature, does anyone know the name of another Chinese literary classic with a story about a group of bandits, robbers, martial artists, etc who all went to a place and revolted against the government. In the end, they surrendered to the government and fought for them. This takes place in the Song Dynasty. If anyone know the name in English, please enlighten me.

I am sure you are referring to The Water Margin. It is considered one of the four greatest Chinese novels, the rest being ROTK, Dream of the Red Chamber and The Monkey King. The Water Margin is about 108 outstanding heroes who were under oppression and persecution and rose against the corrupt officials and government.

You can buy it used at Amazon as there is an -out-of-print translation by David Weir. AFAIK, there is no other translation of better quality.

Lu Bu VS Zao Yun

Which of them is the greatest warrior of that time ?
I'd personally pick Zao Yun. He's got a good personality, the best loyalty, and best melee combat skill ever. Don't believe me ? Read the chapter of his greatest fights to rescue Liu Beis Wives - how he slain many Chao Chao generals :)

In the all around , Zhao Yun was most likely the best of the 5 Tiger Generals. As good as Guan Yu and Huang Zhong in Leadership, able to duel with Zhang Fei and Ma Chao.

In a one on one fight though, with Lu Bu, I see failure. Lu Bu's claim to fame was his dueling skills. It wasn't his brains. :D I believe Zhao Yun would be too smart to fight Lu Bu, a lot easier to trick him.

Red Hare is the name of Lu Bu's horse, he got it by betraying his ruler and joining Doug Zhou. Just one of his many evil deeds.

Thanks for refreshing my memories, I think I'd better read the Novel again soon :)

IIRC later the Red Hare was give to Guan Yu by Chao Chao. Chao Cjao planned to win Guan Yu sympathise but ironically Guan Yu rode the Red Hare as soon as he heard where his sworn brothers where about. This journey of Guan Yu also become a legend :)

Here is a flash movie showing just this. :D

The motorcycle is the Red Hare.

Guan Yu's time with Cao Cao.

Has anyone mentioned that there's an online translation available in English of RoTK? It's the old Brewitt-Taylor version. You can find it at http://www.threekingdoms.com/ There are also some brief, useful notes on the different versions by the site owner.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Zhao Yun is definitely the best warrior in the entire book. I mean, he doesn't even have a single scar after all those years of fighting. Ironically, he didn't die in battle. He died when his wife somehow bleed him, and then he died. Sounds like he's a hemophiliac. At least, that's what I remember how he died. It's been awhile.

@Weasel : LMAO Thanks :D :D Especially for that flash movie :D

@fable : Yep that's the site, but finally they put up a crorrect translation :)

@ humanflyz : Zhao Yun died in old age, not because of hemophilia or someting like that. FYI during his battle to save Liu Beis Wives he got lots of battle scars and wound, which apprently make Liu Bei mad toward his son and slam the poor baby into the ground :)
