time stop immunity

Post by pooburgler »

Getting kinda bored with legit play and want to make a tweaked party with the main PC having immunity to time stop. Anyone know how to tweak the game to implement this?

Thanks to a few threads by User, I analyzed Time Stop effects rom Shadow Keeper.

I originally thought that the immunity was due to some special abilities certain characters were scripted to have.

Nada.

I checked again and found that Time Stop immune enemies get it from items that they have.

In SK, the codes are FINMEL01, RAVAG03 and DEMOGORG.

I suppose you can get these codes from the IEEEAIS editor as well, though I have never tried it.

Again, I emphasise that cutting and pasting these codes into your PC involve some risks as I have never tried it myself. Proceed with caution!

:)

EDIT Come to think of it, this might be more suited for the ToB forum. Moderators?

I disagree

I disagree because if you install ther solafein romance mod, you'll see that he is also immune to the effects of time stop (even with nothing equipped) so there has to be another explanation.

Best by test.

Have you tried it yourself?

@Baldursgate Fan - Use Infinity Explorer - it lets you look at a lot more aspects of the game. ;)
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

sorry, pooburgler, i think fan is in a closer track than you are, since I have tried to copy the only affect in demogorgons cre file, and it did not make me timestop immune. i would try adding immunity items via clua console, and experimenting, or and this is quite possible, the animation itslef might be the way to be immune. if the tob engine is set to allow certain animations to be time stop immune, the only way to duplicate would be to change your avatar.

also, fan, you are forgetting monkey boy is immune to backstab and critical strike, so the immunity items might cover those as well. hmmm... time to experiment....this is why use any itme rocks!!!

gotta be careful, though, since certain items, like the moon blade, and edwins familty amulet, will "stick" if summoned via console, in your backpack and cannot be moved. suspect most immunity items are like that.

tiem for some fun!!!

Thanks fan, guys, another round of experiments coming up!!!

its finmel01,

that seems to be best and most useful it is an amulet, so you can no longer use amulet of power if you play fighter spell caster, like paladin and kensai dual.

demogorg is a weapon, and unequipping to switch to diff weapon will no longer make you timestop immune. but demogorg does around 50 dage per hit, so its kinda cool...

pool, i think i know why youre confused. finmel and demogorg are invisible itmes, they have no pictures or icons associated with them, so only if you click on it will it say "item cannot be removed"

heck, you can even equipp it on a ring, using sk...will work just fine, as long as its on your person...

open saved game, click on item slot you want to insert time stop immunity.

open creature view, then open melissan, final version, the intro versions only have junk, then click on finmel. highlichgt, then open change item. go to your character, then click on slot, then open change item. you cna click on button on bottom and it will paste item inot your char.

enjoy...

thank you fan!!!very tasty indeed....

needs a new bun bun build, not just for that, but got some problems with current build, crit strike is a piece of junk...

@User and Sojourner,

OK, I have also tested the three effects, and User is right; they come with extra abilities besides Time Stop.

Just imagine equipping it on the Ring of Gaax... super uber! It can't be removed, but then, who wants to? And Boots of Speed with Time Stop immunity, boggles the mind!

...Unless you're a fighter-thief! I've been playing in a soloing campaign (had to take fighter-thief because assassin was already taken) - and Critical Strike helps make up for the lack of 7x backstab. Imagine activating this before backstabbing with the upgraded Staff of the Ram. :D :D

ahhh, but crit strike is useless for a kensai sorc build...

you can already hit anything in the game anyway, with holy avenger, I get around thaco of -23 or so, and deathbringer is not immuned like backstab, but i see your point, a backstab you do not do under greater whirlwind, and this build was specifically for exploiting my deathblow and poison area effect of doom...crit strike is great for archers and thieves, they have their own multipliers, or use imp haste to dual wield or use ranged attacks, thus having crit strike becomes quite good, but for a kensai, its a pain in the butt trying to activate crit one round before g whirlwind and then hoping both are active while attacking...

does no good in mass or area effect, unlike the g deathblow or poison weapon, power attack or kai...

True enough. I'm partial to thieves, myself, so naturally any super-hacked character of mine would have Critical Strike. Hm, a morphed assassin with Critical Strike...except for those critters who have the annoying habit of equipping those items making them immune to backstab, nothing would survive a 7x backstab with critical strike and poison activated. (Note to self: re-write AI scripts so certain critters automatically unequip annoying items when an assassin comes into view. :D :D )

Fantastic! With you and User around, we can hack things to pieces! Take this game to new heights! Blow sh*t up!

Thief classes are solo artistes unto themselves. UAI and spikes will make them invisible by ToB. Use it with caution!

Note to Sojourner: If you don't mind to share your stuff, would deeply appreciate a looky look at some of your AI scripts. Zip it baby! Zip it! :D :D :D

TIA! ;)

a simple way to duplicate the Immunity to time stop item would be to extract it and take it to an editor.. there you could have all sorts of fun what with giving it a graphic.. heck just duplicate the abilities onto a amulet of power then you can truly have your cake and eat it too

While your at it try copying Carsomyrs abilities to a short bow and lowering the speed factor.. then copy the black blade of disaster and blackrazor abilities to arrows and see what happens
-->Instert cool sig here<--

Even easier just edit the bow of the final solar, that has dispelling abilties and a slay effect included and make it dropable. You can then increase the speed like the Tuigan's Bow or make my favourites slayer arrows of detonation (kill everything in the area, normally I slay the rest of my parte in the process just for the fun of it :D ). hmmm... did that sound overpowered??? jejeje. Someone post more ideas for bows and arrows, it doesn't matter if they're balanced or not.

Unzip and put the ITM file into the Override folder of BG2. Add it to your character's inventory, either with Shadow Keeper or CLUA, use CLUAConsole:CreateItem("scrlts").

Use it the same way as you would a normal scroll, equip to quick item slot and click on it. The character will get immunity to Time Stop.
