How much scripting is going to be required? For example:
I am inserting an ambush along the road for a little action to pep up my players. I put in a couple of orcs and an ogre. I know I have to script thier speech and the like, but will I have to do thier treasure, or will there be an automatic generator for that. Will they chose thier own opponents and start attacking or will I have to choose who each guy attacks.
In otherwords, how much micro-managing is going to be required? Can I just set the encounter and let it ride or do I have to spend 4 hours making up a couple of orcs?
I hope it is easy, but...

Well Bioware make a lot out of telling us that the Toolkit will be able to handle most things the ordinary "modulebuilder" wants - so I would think that they do mean it, and that it will be the main way to make encounters and such.
But if you want to cusomize a lot, and make twists and turns in the behaviour of your NPCs I would imagine that some scripting will be the right way to go (more control).
So basically I would think there would be an automated function for pretty much everything you ask, but you can customize it futher with the scripting.

Yes - leave that to us that *want* to become programmes.
Well I am sure - that if you hang around here on GB - that you would find several people interested in scripting/programming that would be willing to help (if I get the time, which I surly will try to get) I want to become deep into the scripting part - but seeing as I'm not very "DM-like" I'll have to associate myself with others
I just can't wait to get my hands on this sucker! I just hope that I am not bogged down with all kinds of stuff that will ruin the experience for me. I love to DM, but I don't like to type

I think they have set monsters that come up with random treasure relying on the amount of monsters, difficulty or even what type it is.
One thing Bioware have continually said is that most things can be scripted, however, most of the scripting can be done with wizards.
Does anyone remember the GenCon video? They created a dungeon with treasure, enemies and scripted encounters in about 10 minutes, this is what is so enticing, with the wizards, and once I learn some C, we can do so much...
I have already prepared some quests, although NWN will not be shipping before this summer. Let's hope I can DM these quest, cos they are really cool with nice intrigues (sp?).
BTW: I have just submitted my PC for Blades of the Banshee. Can I share adventures (and be DM) with other members?
Broken promises

I am actually looking at remaking alot of adventures that I made when I GM'd a long time ago. I want to see how they will look. I also have some really fun ideas to try out!
