You may commence laughter now  :D
LMAO :D :D :D

I would have to agree that Steps are the worst, they didn't even write their own songs, they just covered every cheesy track they could think of

I never really like 5ive that much. I did, however, admire the clever word trick that they used in their name. It's clever the way they are called 'five' and there actually is the number 'five' in their title. It's incredibly rewarding, and on so many levels.

and @Sleep Portishead's eponymous record's better than Blue Lines. So there. ;)

Just goes to show their level of intellect! :D

They were terrible, but at least they tried some different things; none of them worked. They are still better than A1 tough

Dummy is the best of Portishead's albums so perhaps that would be in better contention :p Again it is a shame that live album's aren't allowed because Portishead's is absolutely ace :)

@Fas, Yeah i know, such a shame isn't it, and right when they were at the pinnicle of their creative and intellectual heights

It was slightly more of an abstract album, some of the tracks are down right self indulgent. It depends on what you want from an album, Portishead as a structure was better, but Dummy had the better tracks IMO :)

What? Floodland and 'First and Last and Always' is so much better then Vision thing, how dare you speak such atrocities? ;)

Portishead wasn't self indulgent!! Dummy was quite pop-ish, but the tunes are just as tight on Portishead...it's just the sounds are more experimental and the bass is meaner. Portishead is much more soulful, and sadder as well (**** as I may sound for saying it)... ;) .

Which brings me to my second question: WTF is Ah-ha?

Ps - you into Erykah Badu Sleep?

I think there are 2 weak tracks on Portishead, where as Dunny is all tight, i guess it is personal opinion ;) I would have to agree with your finding though; to some degree.

I forget you are only 14, "Take me on (take on me) take me home" doesn't mean anything to you then? :D

A lot of people said that Mama's Gun was weak as well, but i think it is a work of art, again i think it is probably opinons based ;) I would like to see her again, i suppose in Oxford you get to see lots of bands

nah...mama's gun was incredible (was she having her baby at the time? I don't remember) Baduizm was a bit dopey for my likings. It was cool, but I would never listen to it just on my own or something...it had to accompany a big burn...Mama's Gun though is a real record. It's a lot more serious whih is nice IMHO...
As for seeing a lot of bands in Oxford yeah we do, but I can't really compare as I've never lived or gigged anywhere else  . Much as I dispise the Strokes they did their first UK gig here IIRC and at the time averyone was going crazy. Kate Moss was at the gig :) ...that was crazy umm..anyway loads of cool people come and play at the Zodiac when they're kind of heading around the UK on their 'small intimate for-the-people tours'...ha ha Roni Size is gonna be at the Brookes Student Uni in May!!!!
Nwah ha ha ahaha !!!

However the problem with Oxford is we don't really have any large venues in which bands can do gigs, so we never get on any large tour rounds. The Zodiac isn't exactly huge...
