If Northern Ireland counts...

...then make mine U2's Joshua Tree.

@Ysh: On the side, I'll be watching Roger Waters' (of Pink Floyd) concert here in Bangkok on the 10th of April.

Er yes I did - what's the problem? does british mean "has to be pre-1980s"? I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of pink floyd as so many of you are.

so yall like Beggars banquet huh?
Even though massively popular opinion seems to put Exile on main Street at the top of every stones album list, I'm not so sure. Anyway, I'd say that for a Stones album it's a close call between Beggars Banquet and Sticky Fingers. IMO Street Fightin Man is the best stones track ever, but Gimme Shelter, Wild Horses and Sister Morphine are classics too...
@Kameleon did you see Radiohead in July in South Park? If you didn't I'm immediately discounting all your votes ;) anyway congrats on the lurking period. Anyway how can you like OK Computer but not like Pink Floyd? Lucky basically is a Pink Floyd track. Anyway, I like PF but not that much, so here's my list:

David Bowie: Low
Radiohead: OK Computer
Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers
David Bowie: Station to Station
Van Morrison: Astral Weeks

special mentions: Beatles: Abbey Road (best beatles album). IMHO Revolver is the most overrated album ever. Roots Manuva: Brand New Second Hand (best hiphop album) probably the only hiphop album better is It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back, but that's american  . Elvis Costello: Armed Forces deserves a mention for something, and also how come evryone loves Queen so much?

@frogus Yes, I was at South Park. I was wondering whether "Location: oxford" meant MY Oxford or some little town in a Mid-West American state :D . I hope this won't make you hate me forever :p , but If I could only take one Radiohead album on a desert island with me, it would not be OK Computer. I actually prefer all of the others, this is not to say that I don't like Karma Police, No Surprises or Paranoid Android though. I just think that the others are coherent albums with a bunch of great songs, whereas OK feels more like a compilation, and with only a few genuinely amazing tracks.

So what about Things Fall Apart by The Roots? ;)

Actually stating the BEST album ever is somewhat of an impossible task since music is opinion derived, however i am still backing DSotM :D

Oh we forgot Ciggarettes and Alcohol by Oasis

I agree completely. My favourite Radiohead album's probably Kid A at the moment, but it varies. Amnesiac is normally me favourite, but the question wasn't favourite, it was 'greatest'....I think if we are gonna call any album 'great' it would have to be either OK Computer or Kid A, and I just went for the one with bigger sales  . So there's my justifiction... ;) There's another kid from Oxford on here as well called |<()R/\/F|_@|<£$ or something...wierd that oxford's got such a small area and population yet such a large percentage of SYMers

EDIT -
Oh we forgot Ciggarettes and Alcohol by Oasis

Though I have always preferred Pink Floyd with Roger Waters, I do not rate his solo stuff. I have seen him, however - I went to his production of The Wall in Berlin after the Berlin Wall came down :)
