Asking this question here, you'll find good comments about
EVERY class, even the wizardslayer!!

Really it depends on your style of play, maybe if you could give some more infos about what you expect from the game...

well if u want 2 play the whole 2 games with the same character, i reckon your best bet would either be a fighter or paladin for BG1 who you could then import in2 bg2. theyre both beginner friendly characters. When you import, convert 2 a kit, bezerker or kensai depending on ur style of play if ure a fighter or any of the kits u prefer for paladin (theyre all pretty good, i quite like the undead slayer n inquisitor). If ure a fighter u can dual in bg2 - uve probably heard of the excellent kensai/mage n kensai/thief combos.

Hey, *I* played a wizard slayer through as my main, first time! I keel you, stinking wizard!

Actually, the advice is sound - there is no real right answer, play what you like - there's a fair range of classes and kits as well as multi/dual class combos.
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

go frue bg1 with a plain bard and use a party and then import it in to bg2 and chose a blade and go solo with him i think it is the most fun caracter to play but it's just me.

Btw if you are a beginer i would go with a fighter or paladin(berseker and inqister kits)
