Who should be my 6th?

Post by Bloodtalon »

My party is:
Me : ranger/cleric
Keldorn
Aerie
Jan
Haer-Dalis

So I have:
2.5 tanks = me, keldorn,+ haer-dalis (.5)
2 clerics = me, Aerie
1 thief = Jan
1 bard/support = Hear-Dalis
2 mages = Aerie, Jan

Who should I have as my last member...I'm thinking I should have another tank...? Or should I just play with 5 and rotate the 6th to do NPC quests?
If I do get a tank, should I use Minsc, Mazzy, or Valygar?? Korgan wont work cause I'm good.

Consider Jaheira. Not only can she tank, but she's a Harper, which gives her access to Resurrection (unlike other druids). Plus, she's got the great Insect Plague spell.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

You have 3 multiclass in your party who will reach their full power very late 6-7 million experience, so 5 is allready a big party if you want to have enough experience for all.
The Bard will be the best tank later, but you do not have much melee power.
If you want a strong/fast party I would exchange Aerie for Korgan he will not make much problems.
If you want a caster party, remember that in many if not the most situations your frontliner will allready have done most of the job before your casters got their army on the ground. So removing Keldorn and Haer Dalis and putting in one more mage could give you a totally different playing experience.

man I dont understand ppl. I mean a big party is a real pain. Its better in the long run to have fewer members. I mean they get more EXP because its not being split up AND u dont have to control so much. Id say drop Haer'dals man. and go with 4 u will be fine

Ok...hmmm..
how bout then:
Me ranger/cleric
Jan the thief/mage
Keldorn tank
Mazzy supa-archer

Korgan won't work...I'm too good aligned...lawful good/
Thats a four-member heavy melee grp...do you think i could get by with just my ranger/cleric's healing powers?...should I add aerie or would that be too much drain on exp? hmm and will jan's multi-classed mage be strong enough, or will my melee make up for that? thanks

If you remove Aerie and leave Jan as your only mage, you may have problems. Your first party idea was good all by itself without any added members, although none of your mages will be able to cast lv. 9 spells and some of them are pretty useful to have, but it's not crucial.

Bloodtalon,
since your Ranger/Cleric could solo the game, just choose what you like best.
Concerning healing powers, there are 2 rings of regeneration and the ring of Gaxx.
My first fighter party was:
Dwarfen Babarian
Korgan
Keldorn
Anomen
Nalia

I had 4 frontliners and no use for more than 2 healing spells because of Potions and the Wand of Resurrection.
Also my mage had not enough time to cast more than 1 breach and a magic missle before the fight was over 99% of the time.

I would take 6 ppl if its your first time through the game, as you will miss dialogues otherwise. I played with 6 character the first and second time, different parties, and now i will do it solo.

In the above team i would put in another fightertype, Anomen is a good choice instead of Aerie, and then pick a real mage. 2 multiclass mages and a bard arent that good, its like 3 supports mages and no real. Same thing with anomen, you got no real cleric, and he is a good tank as well
Sigurd, Crazed Cleric of Talos, Servant of Evil.
