I must admit one of locals in Crewe is teaming with the little people. We went in there after watching LotR recently, and I thought a) I must be getting old and b) these lot belong in a ball pond! On the same night, I was served by a rather busty barmaid with accompanying low-cut top and was surprised that I didn't make a mistake when saying ,"I'll have two TETLEYS, please". She even smirked!!

So, Fezek, is it the proximity to St Patricks Day that has you entertaining the leprechauns then? :D ;)

When I was single, I did travel a few times up to Wisconsin to drink....especially the first weekend of deer hunting season. All the wives and girlfriends of hunters, (and for those that don't know, it is a prerequisite for males in Wisconsin to own a bow or deer rifle) would flock to the bars for 2 nights of heavy partying.

It was like shooting fish in a barrel. :D :D **good times, good time** ;)

Hey McBane, counselor. I figured it wouldn't take you long to find and reply to my Ill. comment. btw, I liked the picture with the heineken. It's always much cooler to have one giant beer instead of twelve little ones. :D

@Fezek,

Most bows in Wisconsin are +3 or better, however, our own intoxication usually negates the enchantment. :D

I agree. I had a hard time getting it cold though. It wouldn't fit in the cooler, or refrigerator. Had to put it outside for a few hours. ;) Tasted good too!

BTW, I am currently finishing my basement, and am building a bar. I am pricing out the keg refrigerators with tapper, and boy, are they expensive. I shall post a picture within the next couple of weeks with the final product. :D :D

@McBane,

Don't post a picture, post your address. :D :D

And yes, real Wisconsin hunters use bows although I hear they are going to start handing out morning star tags for deer season also. :rolleyes:

Neither. Although I do own a 12gauge shotgun. I used to hunt as a teenager, usually squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, but don't anymore. I shoot skeet about 2 times a year.

not with michael owen. Is that guy old enough to drink yet and this year, he'll be participating in his second world cup. What's his status. Unfortunately, I haven't followed the English leagues as closely as I should (and no, I don't follow U.S. soccer, it's an oxymoron--I've played for over half of my life but when the men here try to compete internationally, well, it just doesn't work out).

I don't think Owen has learned how to stretch yet. He injures his hamstring every 2 or 3 weeks. I think he is 21 now..???

I'll contact Bloodstalker, it's about the same distance for him. Call damage control. I'll actually be in Milwaukee in a few weeks for the brewers opening weekend however, thanks and impressed with the hospitality.

Hunting Pheasant is something I miss.

Note: The original topic is a global survey on alcohol for those of you not willing to go back and read this thread from the start. ;) :p :rolleyes:

@McBane,

you're a fan, eh? that's too bad about owen. what a waste, he was so much to watch in 1998, but then again, the entire tournament was outstanding.

Can you believe the Netherlands got sent packing. I was going to be pulling for them this cup. They were the highlight of '98 except for the French who played almost to perfection.

@ Ned. It's true that English footballers nowadays are motivated not to drink. Alot of the younger footballers are extremely responsible, unlike Gazza, Sheringam, Adams et al.

@McBane. I did have to laugh at Tommo's comment. His other comment ..."nobody likes being criticised, particularly by players who will be in Disneyland this summer on their holidays rather than the World Cup in Japan."..was equally amusing.

Anyway, back to drinking..I like Guinness when I can get it, any kind of local "ale" and cider in summer.

I'm 25, IT professional, born in Newcastle. I drink Guinness. Its all I've drank for the past 3 years barring extreme binges involving wine, whiskey, absynthe (woo!) or just about anything.
