Post by nael »

my thoughts...CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as they kill the frogcreature the instant the movie begins, it's going to be fine with me. Otherwise I'll be a critic from ****!

Well, having saw the trailors for it last X-mas (Thank you Morpheus), I can say this one just might give some credibitly back to the franchise, if they kill off Jar-Jar...

i have definitely been curious as to what they will do with jar jar. they can't just not have him in there, btu how will they write him off?

i think yoda should kill him.

actually that is the one thing iwant to see more than anything, is yoda whipping soem butt. some sort of lightning effect like the emperor had in return of the jedi

Just my 2 cents. I think its dead. It's over blown to begin with, though it was a good series.
As the plot get progressivly worse, G Luca will just throw in bigger and better FX until the average person is so dazzled by the shiny things that they happily through money into his pocket.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

Now that I know it's name, I can find allies against the vile cretin. See here . Seems more people than me want him dismembered. :p :D

I especially like the "EVIL SATANIC..." link. :p

The series is not dead, for the simple reason that the best bad guy of all times will be created. I think its in the third one where Anakin becomes Vader. Its also another excuse to use the imperial march!

Yes but we get to see him go bad in the second. :D

However not being a big Star Wars fan, I'll wait for the DVD.

There’s something about a Star Wars film that beats the cynicism out of me. As much as I hate Jar-Jar, as incredibly corny as the series is, the moment I see a lightsaber onscreen the fanboy within me takes over and I’m spell bound. Seeing all those Jedi fighting in that coliseum, watching Anakin wield two lightsabers… I was sold. This is going to be a kick ass year for me. Spiderman, Episode II, and the Two Towers!

For those who missed it, you can find the new trailer, Clone War here .
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I so hope Spider Man does not turn out like Batman series.
Fancy costumes, overtop CGI effects and no plot.

I realy am not looking forward to Spiderman. IMO, Toby Maguire is one of the wimpiest actors in Hollywood, and William Defoe is just creepy.

I know what you mean. When I saw episode 1, the day it came out, second showing, I wasn't expecting a great movie, but my heart was beating so much in the 5 seconds of silence between "A long, long time ago" and "Star Wars". Those 5 seconds IMO were the best part of the movie. Just the anticipation of the continuation of the most succesful series of all times, and then it starts: "Twentieth century fox", then "Lucas films" then "A long, long time ago" and then, finaly "STAR WARS Episode I - the phantom Menace" with the amazing theme- I'm out of words to describe it.

I think its funny that Christopher Lee, who a year ago was just an old actor who played drakula, a James Bond villain and a few other things, is all of a sudden transformed into an acomplished actor, who is the bad guy in 4 of the most anticipated movies in the coming years! (LoTR and Star Wars)
I am not 100% sure he is the bad guy in Star wars, but I think if he has an alter ego, a Darth before his name, and his name is Tyranus- its pretty obvious. In imdb he is credited as Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus .

That is a really good point, he is more like Burt Reynolds than Anthony Hopkins ;) He has always been an accomplished actor, but he was a little too creepy to avoid being placed in Drakula roles, i think they shot him to fame in a way nothing else could. Okay so Fu Manchu wasn't great, but it does show a certain diversity.

I will have to look for a link to our Episode 1 Thread, it is so funny :)

I don´t understand how can I like Starwars while hating half of the characters. I simply abhor C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Jar-Jar, Lando Calrissian, Leia, Yoda and pretty much everything that has more than 32 teeth or four members in it. I guess the coolness factor of Vader, Boba Fett and Darth Maul make me turn a blind eye to these hateful characters!
Jar-Jar must stay alive until Episode III so Anakin may practice his distance choke force power on him... and on the long-necked jedi from Phantom Menace (that one will give a bonus on his roll!)
"No one expects the Brazilian Inquisitor!"
Abazigal: "Oh my god! They killed Yaga-Shura!"
Sendai: "You bastards!"

Hey...I wouldn't..ummm...yeah. I wish they would kill a whole lot of them off. Jar Jar was awful, but no worse IMHO than Ewan Mc****ingGregor. He was appalling. Episode one was a disguting sell out which ruined the whole magic. It had the feel of a Sccoby-Doo toy you get in McDonald's saying McD's tm made in Taiwan on the bottom. I only saw the old Star Wars's when I was 11 (three-ish years ago) and I loved them. They were exciting and even thought they put in the cheap comedy character (yoda) they loaded him up with a superior kind of charisma whcih gave the movies some dignity. Like when your big bro used to come in to first school and stop all the other kids from picking on you (alright I don't have a brothetr, but you get the idea), even though Star Wars was playing along with childish fantasies shamelessly, it was doing it in a mature, dignified, cool way. Now Star Wars is like when yor brother got a girlfriend and never spoke to you again, just started smoking.
