Up or Down - at a crossroads...

OK, I've finished almost all of the main hall (one room I can't get in to). I am in the area that has steps up to the Halls of Stone or Down to the Deep Halls. Which way should I explore first?

I would suggest going up to the Halls of Stone first, it's easier than the Deep halls and you can gain some nice items and levels before traveling to the other dungeons.
