Grim Fandango

Post by VoodooDali »

I picked this game up for $9.99 from Amazon. I'm not a big fan of Adventure games--all those puzzles get annoying after a while. However, I must say that this game is fun due to the cleverness of the graphics (I love the Mexican Day of the Dead style), the dialogue and the music. Too bad it isn't an RPG.

If you're looking for something to pass the time until some new games come out, I recommend it.

Yes, it was great. :) A shame Lucasarts has pretty much decided to bury graphical adventures, after the relative failure of GF and the latest Monkey Island. I'd say they did the best in the genre, followed by Sierra's Quest by Fire series.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Playing the recent Monkey Island game right now, and it's a riot. Since I'm in my adventure phase at the moment. I might just try Grim Fandango

Strange but compelling, some might say symbolically (Changed for copyright reasons ;) :D )

Fantastic game, one of if not the best adventure game ever :)

If you like this you might want to try The Longest Journey as well, more "real life" but equally excellent :)

I was planning to buy The Longest Journey, so I might order Grim Fandango at the same time (budget permitting).

I want to try out my newly installed video card more, you see. ;)

I played Longest Journey--before I tried BG! It is cool for an adventure game. However, I'm getting a much bigger kick out of GF.

GF is a lot funnier, although it does have to access the CD all the time which is really annoying :(

Plus Manny is my favourite computer game character ever :D

I did a full install of it, and haven't had the problem of it accessing the PC all the time. Gee, I love my 80gig hd!
