Well Canada's winning 4-1 right now after two periods against Belarus, so its safe to say it'll be Canada and US/Russia.
GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The US/Russia game is going to be wicked (with proper officiating, unlike the women's gold game last night
).
GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make that Canada 5, Belarus 1.
Good effort, but the Yanks will still prevail in the end, as we do in everything else, EH?

I was listening to the
Bob and Sheri syndicated radio show this morning (they talked their producers into sending them out to broadcast live from the Olympics) and they said that they went to the women's hockey game last night and ran into some fans from Canada who were cheering for the US.
These Canadians were dressed in head to toe in red and white with the big maple leaf displayed prominently on their apparel, because after all, hockey is not only the national winter sport, it is arguably the leading religion. This is a sharp contrast to the majority of the United States who think of hockey more as a curiosity than a sport.
Apparently, these Canadians were leading the familiar U-S-A chant, but added a twist:
"U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! Win silver! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! Win silver!"

@All: I can't believe Sweden blew it against Belarus...
After totally thrashing Canada with 5-2, following that up with a win against the Czech Republic (which Canada didn't manage) and showing everyone that "European tactics" is the future...
Our nation is still in shock....it was all like a bad dream....it still is....
Ohh well....I hope to see Russia win the Olympic IceHockey tournament....

Canada shall crush US/Russia. It doesn't matter if it's the red white and blue, or just straight red. Canada will be victorious!

Olympic gold is Olympic gold . . . even if your sport is an overcomplicated version of shuffleboard on ice.

Curling may not be a "real" sport, but the winners get to put the words "Olympic gold medalist" in front of their names for the rest of their lives. If someone would declare channel-surfing an Olympic sport, I'd kick everyone's butt and be proud to show off my remote control and gold medal, even though my entire conditioning regimen would consist of smoothing out the ass-crease in the Barcalounger and guzzling beer.

Curling
Woohoo..... Norway beat Canada 6-5 in the final.
The Canadian skip lost it with something like 3 cm or 1 inch to you over there.
Now that`s an unexpected gold medal.

They use the brushes to help steer the stone.
If it`s to loose they can add extra meters by brusing and warming up the ice.
It also helps if the stone curls too much, because it goes straight longer.
Hope that helps. It`s how I understand it after watching 3 matches in the last week or so.

Don't be so sure. Canadians make up some of the most skilled players in the world. We will win, and if not, we'll make the states earn, and hard.
