Play as Drizzt and/or Irenicus???

Ok i found a site where they had custom NPC's like Drizzt and Jon Irenicus as playable characters in shadows of amn and throne of bhaal. I really like the idea of playing as drizzt so i downloaded his character. I have only one question for all of the computer geniuses out there. Has anyone done this or something like this? And if so, where do these NPC's come into play? How do i get to where im able to play with him in a game? do i have to do some reconfiguring? or just start a new game and he jumps from the sky and into my party? I have no idea, any help would be appreciated.

This all depends on how the NPC were made, there should be a text file that came with the character you downloaded telling you what need to be done, how to get them and so on.

If you create a normal character called 'Drizzt' then when you meet the real Drizzt and his party he is annoyed that you have stolen his name, and you need a high charisma to convince him not to attack you.

If you name is Artemis, the assasin that it, then Drizzt will attack you.
