when i gamble for the gem, i never get it. whether i win and i kill him, he wins and it says he returns it in my journal, i never seem to get the gem that will allow me to pass through the portal.

gamble for spectral brand and wish scroll, get them, and tehn kill him, you get gem and deck....

Its suppose to happen like that. He doesn't want to be stuck there so even if you win he will attack you.

even when i beat him down, though, all he drops is a DOMT. i cant get the gem necessary for escape, nor can i find anything in the walkthrough.
