Human rights

Post by C Elegans »

Do you believe in common human rights?
If so, what rights do you think should be universal?

Do you believe different people should have different rights? If so, what features or characteristics do you think should be connected to what rights?

Post your personal declaration of human rights - if you wish to take a look at UN:s, you'll find it here

everybody is entitled to their own rights. It's just what they choose to do with those rights that should be mitigated.

Yep, you and I had a while ago as a part of a big topic that grew bigger by every post :D , but since there are so many new users on the board, I'd be interested in hearing their opinions :)

You just gotta wonder how many of them have/want an opinion to be heard...

If you mean that every human are born with some "natural" rights simply beacause he is human then i think you are wrong.

If you mean that we should strife to give some universal rights to all humans born, then i cant se any reason to disagree.

As for "same rights for everyone" that again depend on what "same" is. Obviosly a person born with a serious handicap or such are in need of more support then someone healthy....

The UNs declaration of human rights is imo a joke, As it is filled with hypocracy and poorly defined concepts such as "liberty".

Treat others like you would like them to treat you.

Well said Gaxx.

As for common human rights.
Yeah i do believe there is something like that.
But heck i believe in a universal moral code as well.
So those two go together.

Universal right?
Education
Freedom of speech - but not to free, personally feel if you are a neo-nazi or KKK you deserve to be shot.
Freedom of religion etc etc.

Many that the UN covers.
hmm think of more later.

"Do you believe in common human rights? "
The imutable natural right, no and don't believe; in my opnion it is the actual moral.
There cannot exist a Universal right until the Universe agree if that. (seem stupid, but it isn't)The rights maintain a certain kind of order via coercion, if the role people of the world don't regonise this coercion, then the Right is not Universal.

"Do you believe different people should have different rights? If so, what features or characteristics do you think should be connected to what rights?"

Suposing you are talking about diferent people in the the same state of corpus of right, state civil and persona, then i think they should not have diferent rights.
