*Spolier Requested* Watcher Keep lvl 4

Post by Dranic Darkvein »

I Tried to take on Saladrex in Watcher Keep lvl 4 and found that you arent able to cloudkill him to death. I tried to melee him to death but find his firebreath and wing buffet thing to powerful. Any suggestion ongoing about killing this dragon? Thanks

If his firebreath is your problem I would suggest the red dragon plate, ring of fireresistance and a scroll of fire resistance (all together: 140, after lowered firesistance: 90)
I don't know what your party configuration is, but try getting someone else to get targetted by the "lower fireresistance" spell - he casts it after he stonesskins, I believe.
Have you main fighter equiped as stated, and have him go toe-to-toe with the dragon. Let someone else remove his stoneskins and his haste.
After that, just use your regular high-HP, high magic-resistant moster tactic.

Oh, if you don't have the red dragons plate, you can use cheese and cast two fire resistance scrolls in the fighter, or just go with 90% - which is good enough.

Stuff that always helps me when I'm fighting dragons:
Summon hakeshar. A lot of the magical attacks won't hurt the hakeshar. Meanwhile, when the dragon is trying to off the hakeshar, keep bombarding the dragon with the spell 'lower resistance'. That way your magic attacks do much more damage.

Never tried it with the WK dragon, but usually the "5 hasted/fear protected earth elementals"-strategy works fine, not that the elementals manage to kill the dragon right away, but they catch most of the bullets and your fighters can take care of what's left.

if you have two mages high enough to cast chain contingency, get the spell, ribaud after underdark, and get spell trigger.

load up triggers with lower resist and malison.

set chain for see enemey, nearest enemy and abu dahzims

init dialog, and leave dragon blue circle.

in pause, unload both triggers on dragon, a few ticks later, the chain will go off, wiping his smug butt.

better with 3 mages, but 2 will whack him 90% of the time.

this makes dragons dead easy in tob and so, since I play with balderdash patch.

also thinking of trying teleport field, and inc cloud, since telelport field messes up personal initiative...

try multiple spooks in a trigger or sequencer, after hitting with lower resist. a panicked dragon is a flesh bag waiting for a sharp pin, they cannot use innate abilities or spells!!!
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!
