@average joe: you got the same stats as me. What do we do. Dominate the clerics and thieves and steal all their money and run off. hehe

Seriously, I hope clerics' weapon choice do get expanded. Shouldn't a cleric of Tempus, the god of war, get to wield a battle axe or something? How about clerics of Talona wielding poison daggers? Makes sense, doesn't it? Okay, well to me it makes sense!
Well any class should be able to wield any weapons they want. I've read thievs that wield heavy crossbows, mages that fight with long swords. Truly any character class should be able to wield any weapon of their coice but should have favored weapons.

I'm way ahead of you Thorin...I've been pocketing gold since my first day here. :D As far as stats...who knows? They are very subject to change, as the rules will be different.

@Nippy, et al: Well, the whole clerics and crossbows thing all depends on how closely NWN follows the new 3rd Edition Rules. I bought the new D&D Players Handbook, because the official NWN site references 3E rules all over the place. In 3E, any class can use any weapon (or armor, for that matter) as long as they expend skill points towards those areas. If I am reading the rules a-right. So, the question is: is NWN strictly according to 3E? Anybody know?

I don't believe that they would allow Mages to wear Full Plate, they would get extreme spell casting failures otherwise...

@nippy: its truth mages will be able to use heavy armor. but they have to spend 2 or 3 feats i think, those could be used to improve his spellcasting ability so you wont see many heavyarmored mages :D

I say, let 'em learn the fine art of armoring themselves. Then we get to see them learn the fine art of encumbrance! :D

Hehehehe, lol. Right Rail.

BTW. I've just found that anyone can use any weapons/armours it just requires more feats to use it. So if I see a wizard using a sword I'll know that he wants to be a fighter!

LOL, good one Rail!

Seriously, should the Paladins bother turning undead in NwN or should we leave it to the clerics?

@Nippy: "Clerics?" I don't know why you are using the plural here, when, to the best of my knowledge, I am the only dang cleric you got! Maybe I'll turn undead, maybe I won't - what's it worth to you? :D

Not so fast, boy. I'm a cleric as well. True, i spent my younger days as that of a rogue, but i'm as devoted to my faith as i am to my ale. And i'll turn the undead. I'll send em back to their graves if need be.

By the way, Thorin also be one of our number.

Not so fast yourself, there! As I understand it (and, admittedly, I may be w-a-a-y off), we are all starting out here at 0 exp, level 1, average joes (if you'll pardon my use of the term). So, you can't have multi-classed, yet, and probably won't want to for some time. Until and unless you do, I'm it. And maybe I just don't feel like turning those undead today... ;)

well, if you wanna get down to the nitty gritty technical aspects of it, i don't think any of us will be turning undead since we're all level one. I certainly could be wrong, as i'm not for sure the turn undead strength of a level one cleric. and if multiclassed characters are too much of a hassle, then my character will just decide to give up his rougish ways for his faith.

Ha! You're right, AJ. Maybe if we are both full clerics, and concentrate REALLY hard, we can manage a skeleton between the two of us. :(
