Help against undead

I am at the start of the game , in Saradush, and I need help to fight Fretljes(sp)(the insane guy in the tavern)vampires with my wild mage.Where can I find any amulets (or such) that ward against undead?
(no Cheating)
And what do I do in the prison with the skull and weird man?

well, that's the draw back of not playing through SOA first...buy scrolls of protection from undead. you'll have to do the side quest for the scroll shop guy first though.
for the skull thing...spoilers:

place the skull and his necklace into his cell and he'll appear and let you into one of the other rooms

In the prison with the weird man, you'll need some holy water, the skull and the neckless.

Afer you find the skull, follow the hall till you find the 3 cells where the man also appears(and points to a cell).
In the cell where he points at you place the scull and the neckles and use the holy water to make the place pure again(this happens automaticly I think)
The man will open an closed door for you.

you get a killer ioun stone, best item in the game for mages, no kidding, later caspinar will make into truely great itme after you do watchers keep.

the only better item for mages is robe of vecna.

and it even protects against critical hits too!
