Baldur or Baldor was also a character from Lord of the Rings novel. He was mentioned relating to the Path of the Dead. Baldor was the son of Brego and he entered the Path of the Dead and never came out.

Heh, on a related non-literary note I love Jaheira's first romance dialogue with the "Fearless Leader" reference. Tempts me to make a halfling rogue character named "Boris" :)

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

A lot of references in the game, yes. I had noticed the name Vongoethe to be similar to von Goethe but I didn't know where it related. I identified that Cyrano-act too. Gotta look for more of these references. My God, fable, you really know a lot. I mean, yeah, I know a thing or two about the European mythologies but I live here for god sakes! ;)
Centuries ago in England........It was an era of chivalry and magic. The evil Prince John unleashed an iron fist of tyranny upon the people. They called out for a champion.........one man answered that call. His name, was Robin Hood. Fearless in his quest for justice Robin Hood challenged the power of the high warlords. While protecting the helpless and the poor. Willing to face death for what he believed, along with the beautiful, lady warrior, Jaheira, the mighty Minsc, and the wise Keldorn. Robin Hood forged a legend that lives on today in............

I don't want to disappoint you but the Bio boys weren't really original when they named Cromwell (the guy that puts weapons together in SoA). Victor Hugo actually wrote a play named "Cromwell".

No, Oliver Cromwell was an English Pairlament member. He was a Rebel Pairlament leader in the Civil War that ended with the beheading of Charles 1st. of England. He also created the first english professional army, the New Model Army, which was used to defeat King Charles forces at Naseby.

King Charles was beheaded when sufficient evidence indicated he planned to invade England with Irish and French troops. Latter on, Cromwell would become Lord Protector of England, a sort of dictator. He then invaded Scotland and submitted it to english rule.

Bonny Prince Charles is a much latter character, I believe greatgrandson of Charles 1st.

The Walt Whitman poem is indeed a tribute to Lincoln.
