Rest in the final battle

If i'm not mistaken, you could rest in the final battle while mellisan was recharging. Have they removed this with a patch or something? cause now i can't!

I thought you could rest after each part of the final battle, as long as you don't turn of the beams first.

I thought so to, but in my latest game, when i soloed a f/m/t i couldn't.
That makes the final battle a lot more difficult. The problem is that you mis out on a lot of spells, healing isn't a problem cause then you should have a lot of potions!
