Kevin D. & Sabre, a bugfix request...

Post by Kameleon »

I have the Boots of Speed fix from Baldurdash which I find very useful, but I also rely on the Grandmaster's Armour to double the speed of my entire party. This armour does the same thing as the Boots in standard BG2/ToB do, so when I haste my party everyone goes at 4x speed except poor Minsc, who is stuck at 2x. He also doesn't get the extra attack.

Can anyone also tell me whether the Boots fix also sorts out the problem whereby your offhand gets no attacks? I'm still not sure how bad the problem is, but I know that dual wielders with 3 attacks/round do not get an offhand attack.

I'll ad an (I hope) simple question to that, my ToB works good, but with the patch you get 2 x-tra gems. Is it unwise to instal the patch anyway, so I get the gems?
I mean, will the update mess up my, good working, ToB?
Guinness is good for you.

I already fixed the Grandmaster's Armour as soon as I saw that it uses the (flawed) effect for hasting, so replaced it with the Boots' effect. It will be included in the first FixPack that I release this weekend.

The fixed Boots Of Speed do resolve the problem with off-hand attacks being suppressed.

The operative phrase is that I release this weekend. I hope everybody else up here saw that, too. Kevin, in advance, my thanks. :)

Excellent work Kevin, I have one question about the fix though. What would be the reccommended installation steps? As in SoA, its patch, ToB, its patch and then your ToB bugfix; or can we put your SoA bugfix in before installing ToB? Just want to know if you'll be combining the fixes from SoA into your ToB pack or not. Many thanks for the great work.
