Hardiness!!

Post by Bruce Lee »

What a great ability this is. I am playing as a monk at the moment and boy is hardiness handy. Did you guys know that it stacks? In a tough fight you just through in three hardiness and then you are 120 % resistant to physical damage meaning you will actually be healed if someone hits you. This combine with your high magic resistance makes battles pretty easy.

I think there might be a faint cheesy smell about ;) . Does anybody know if they are meant to stack, or is this another bug?

I know it may be cheesy but I suspect that they are supposed to stack. If you look at resist magic it says that it doesn't stack with any other magic resistance so if hardiness wasn't supposed to stack then it should have said that aswell.

I agree that if the weren't supposed to stack, the description should say so. However, I still think that the healing effects because of a resistance >100% is an annoying bug...

I didn't know that hardiness stacked, although it makes sense given the way things work with other spells that it would. I don't think it should, personally. Look at "blur" and "armor of faith" - the descriptions don't say "it's not supposed to stack", but Bioware has said that it's not supposed to stack.

In any case, hardiness is a great ability even if used only once - once your fighter is 30th level the effect lasts for 15 rounds, which given the way Tob battles are is longer than the battle. I have definitely noticed that the 40% damage resistance allows my fighters to keep fighting more effectively and use their 1/round actions for whirlwinds and other useful abilities instead using of the wand of resurrection or potions.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....
