level draining, not that useful

Post by Saruman »

Basically I'm running a very high level assasin through the latter stages of TOB, I have the scarlet ninjato in my off hand the gauntlets of extraordinary weapon specialisation and Black Razor in my main hand. This gives me 7 attacks every 2 rounds and can be doubled up to 7 attacks per round with improved haste from various items.

Right then I attacked Improved Abigazhal in dragon form head on during time stops (once from a trap and once from a scroll I was carrying) and hit him about 20 times in 5 rounds and had the message about blackrazor draining 4 levels 7 times. Therefore I had drianed 28 levels off the thing as well as about 300 hit points. At no point did he cast restoration and yet at the end of the second time stop Abigazhall was a) only badly injured and b) still powerfull enough to whip my sorry backside.

Does anyone know how level draining affects oponents.

--------------------bump----------------------

Is anyone out there using blackrazor? I was playing my current game the whole way with the plan of getting and using this sword, but when I got to the test in hell, I found I couldn't pickpocket the djinn (got message "target has no items") - I think because I installed the Balderdash fixpack (which i love), and I wanted the -2 to saves so I gave up the sword ;( So I've never really used it, but my guess is that an opponent like Abazigal doesn't really have "levels" to drain which is why it didn't do anything. But the drainer still got the bonuses and such from the "drains" right???
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

might try adding them to your group with CLUA and checking their stats.

Yeah, Ctrl+Q him into the party, check his stats, then whack him a couple of times and check again. :D
